Bisphenol H (BPH) has emerged as a potential alternative to bisphenol A (BPA), which has been curtailed for use due to concerns over its reproductive and endocrine toxicity. This study investigates whether BPH exerts antiandrogenic effects by impairing Leydig cell function, a critical component in testosterone production. We administered orally BPH to adult male rats at doses of 0, 1, 10, and 100 mg/kg/day for 7 days.

Background: Based on previous research, elevated fasting blood glucose (FBG) and decreased high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C) levels are associated with non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD). It is hypothesized that the prevalence of NAFLD may be proportional to the FBG-to-HDL-C ratio (GHR).
Methods: In this study, 3,842 participants from the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) (2013-2020) were investigated.

Spinal cord injury (SCI) is a severe injury to the central nervous system, and its treatment is always a major medical challenge. Proinflammatory cell death is considered an important factor affecting neuroinflammation and the prognosis after injury. PANoptosis, a newly discovered type of proinflammatory cell death, regulates the activation of executioner molecules of apoptosis, pyroptosis and necroptosis through the PANoptosome, providing a new target for therapeutic intervention after SCI.

This study aimed to investigate the effects of Ginkgolide A (GA) on chondrocytes under oxidative stress and to elucidate its potential molecular mechanisms. Using a destabilization of the medial meniscus (DMM) model in mice and an in vitro osteoarthritis (OA) model induced by tert-butyl hydroperoxide (TBHP) in chondrocytes, we validated the therapeutic efficacy and underlying mechanisms of GA. Potential OA targets of GA were identified through network pharmacology, Gene Ontology (GO) analysis, and Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes (KEGG) pathway analysis.

Osteoarthritis (OA) is a chronic inflammation that gradually leads to cartilage degradation. Prolonged chondrocyte oxidative stress contributes to the development of diseases, including chondrocyte apoptosis, cartilage matrix degradation, and aggravation of articular cartilage damage. Bilirubin (BR) possesses strong antioxidant properties by scavenging reactive oxygen species (ROS) and potent protection effects against inflammation.

Objective: This study aims to investigate variances in renal ultrasound parameters between fetuses experiencing fetal growth restriction (FGR) and those with normal intrauterine development, with the intent to offer actionable insights for clinical management.
Method: Forty-five pregnant women diagnosed with FGR between 28 and 36 weeks of gestation, who underwent examination at Wenzhou People's Hospital from September 2021 to June 2023, constituted the FGR group. Concurrently, 65 pregnant women with normal intrauterine development at matching gestational weeks formed the control group.

Background: This study aimed to examine the associations of the Composite Dietary Antioxidant Index (CDAI) with sarcopenic obesity (SO) using the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) database.
Methods: Data were gathered from NHANES between 2001 and 2004. To examine the relationship between CDAI and the occurrence of SO, multiple logistic regression analyses were performed.

Neonatal hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy (HIE) is a severe disease with a poor prognosis, whose clinical treatment is still limited to therapeutic hypothermia with limited efficacy. Perillyl alcohol (POH), a natural monoterpene found in various plant essential oils, has shown neuroprotective properties, though its effects on HIE are not well understood. This study investigates the neuroprotective effects of POH on HIE both in vitro and in vivo.

Introduction: This study aimed to examine the susceptibility profile of Escherichia coli in urinary tract infections (UTIs) among elderly diabetic patients to support judicious and evidence-based antibiotic use.
Methods: From January 2021 to December 2022, urine culture results were analyzed to determine the distribution of pathogens, especially E. coli, and their drug susceptibility.

Objectives: Given the limited tocilizumab (TCZ) treatment data for systemic juvenile idiopathic arthritis (sJIA) in China, we evaluated the long-term efficacy and safety of TCZ in Chinese patients with sJIA.
Method: In this multicentre, interventional Phase IV study, patients with sJIA and inadequate clinical response to non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs/corticosteroids received TCZ infusions every 2 weeks based on body weight (< 30 kg, 12 mg/kg; ≥ 30 kg, 8 mg/kg), over a 52-week open-label period and an 8-week safety follow-up period. The primary endpoint was the proportion of patients with a JIA American College of Rheumatology (ACR) 30 response and absence of fever at Week 12.

Background: Kawasaki disease (KD) is a self-limiting and acute systemic vasculitis of unknown etiology, mainly affecting children. Ferulic acid (FA), a natural phenolic substance, has multiple pharmacological properties, including anti-inflammatory, anti-apoptosis, and anti-fibrosis, and so on. So far, the protective effects of FA on KD have not been explored.

Background: Previous observational studies have suggested that there appears to be a close association between mitochondrial function and psychiatric disorders, but whether a causal role exists remains unclear.
Methods: We extracted genetic instruments for 67 mitochondrial-related proteins and 10 psychiatric disorders from publicly available genome-wide association studies, and employed five distinct MR methods and false discovery rate correction to detect causal associations between them. Additionally, we conducted a series of sensitivity tests and additional model analysis to ensure the robustness of the results.

Cervical cancer is a leading cause of cancer-related mortality in females worldwide, necessitating urgent solutions for effective treatment. Paclitaxel (PTX), a natural diterpene alkaloid compound, has the ability to inhibit mitosis and induce programmed apoptosis in tumor cells. However, its toxicity and drug resistance limit its efficacy in certain cervical cancer patients.

Medulloblastoma (MB) is the most common malignant brain tumor in children. Within MB, tumors driven by the Sonic Hedgehog (SHH) pathway represent the most heterogeneous subtype, known as SHH subtype medulloblastoma (SHH-MB). Tenovin-6, a recognized p53 activator, has been demonstrated to inhibit autophagy and modulate sirtuin activity, underscoring its potential as a novel therapeutic agent across various malignancies.
