The association between Hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection and colorectal liver metastases (CRLM) remains ambiguous in current population-based evidence. To clarify this, we present a retrospective analysis of 5871 colorectal cancer (CRC) patients. Propensity score matching (PSM) was applied to harmonize age and sex disparities within HBV+ ( = 1696) and HBV- ( = 4175) groups and further within HBV+ subgroups of chronic (CHB,  = 474) and occult (OHB,  = 1222) infections.

The first-line therapy pattern transition of metastatic HER2-positive gastric cancer is shifting. The KEYNOTE-811 study demonstrated that the addition of immunotherapy to the standard treatment of HER2-targeted therapy and chemotherapy showed good results in terms of PFS, especially in subgroup patients with PD-L1 CPS≥1. In the future, the first-line therapy pattern of metastatic HER2-positive gastric cancer will be radically changed based on ongoing randomized controlled clinical trials.

Colorectal cancer (CRC) is a major malignancy threatening the health of people in China and screening could be effective for preventing the occurrence and reducing the mortality of CRC. We conducted a multicenter, prospective clinical study which recruited 4,245 high-risk CRC individuals defined as having positive risk-adapted scores or fecal immunochemical test (FIT) results, to evaluate the clinical performance of the multitarget fecal immunochemical and stool DNA (FIT-sDNA) test for CRC screening. Each participant was asked to provide a stool sample prior to bowel preparation, and FIT-sDNA test and FIT were performed independently of colonoscopy.

The phenomenon of tumor hierarchy and genetic instability can be explained by the "two-hits theory" and results in the occurrence of many somatic mutations. The expression of nonsynonymous mutations results in the production of mutant proteins from tumor cells, namely tumor-specific antigens called neoantigens. Background Myocardial dysfunction is the leading cause of early death following successful cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) in people with cardiac arrest (CA), which is potentially driven by cell pyroptosis mediated by NOD-like receptor pyrin domain 3 (NLRP3) inflammasome. Recently, histone deacetylase 6 (HDAC6) inhibition was shown to exert effective myocardial protection against regional ischemia/reperfusion injury.
