Parkinson's disease (PD), a common neurodegenerative disease, seriously impacts the quality of life of patients. In recent years, research has revealed that the GABAergic signaling pathway plays an important role in the occurrence and development of PD. GABA is an important inhibitory neurotransmitter in the central nervous system (CNS), synthesized through the alpha decarboxylation reaction of glutamate (Glu) under the action of glutamic acid decarboxylase (GAD) in GABAergic neurons.

This study aims to screen and identify microRNA (miRNA) expression profiles across different stages of prostate cancer (PCa) and benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) using high-throughput sequencing. The study seeks to determine whether specific miRNAs show consistent differential expression across various stages of PCa, with the goal of identifying potential biomarkers relevant to disease progression. In this study, a total of 12 specimens of PCa and BPH were collected from September 2021 to June 2022 in the Second Affiliated Hospital of Nanchang University, 330,006, P.

Department of Gastroenterology, Jiangxi Provincial Key Laboratory of Digestive Diseases, Jiangxi Clinical Research Center for Gastroenterology, Digestive Disease Hospital, The First Affiliated Hospital, Jiangxi Medical College, Nanchang University, Nanchang, Jiangxi, China.

In patients with gastric cancer (GC), metastatic progression through the lymphatic, haematogenous, peritoneal, and ovarian routes is the ultimate cause of death. We developed a nomogram to estimate cancer-specific survival (CSS) in patients with T1 gastric cancer based on log odds of positive lymph nodes (LODDS). A total of 2,221 patients from the Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results (SEER) database were split into training and internal validation cohorts, while an external validation cohort included 165 patients from our hospital.

STING Deficiency Promotes Th17-Like Tfh to Aggravate the Experimental Autoimmune Uveitis.

Invest Ophthalmol Vis Sci

March 2025

State Key Laboratory of Ophthalmology, Zhongshan Ophthalmic Center, Sun Yat-Sen University, Guangdong Provincial Key Laboratory of Ophthalmology and Visual Science, Guangzhou, China.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to explore the underlying mechanism that Th17-like T follicular helper cells (Tfh) orchestrated by STING signaling have a pathogenic role in experimental autoimmune uveitis (EAU).

Methods: The differences of transcriptome and gene ontology (GO) pathway of Tfh between EAU and control mice were analyzed by single-cell RNA sequence (scRNA-seq) and bulk RNA sequence. Additionally, draining lymph nodes (DLNs) were extracted to verify the expression of IL-17A and IFN-γ in Tfh from EAU and control mice by flow cytometry.

Diabetes mellitus is a common chronic metabolic disease, with its prevalence escalating annually. Diabetic cardiomyopathy is a leading cause of mortality among diabetic patients, characterized by intricate metabolic disturbances and myocardial cell demise. Various forms of cellular death pathways including apoptosis, pyroptosis, autophagic cell death, necroptosis, ferroptosis, and entosis have been identified in diabetic cardiomyopathy.

Chinese Position Paper on Biologic Therapy for Chronic Rhinosinusitis With Nasal Polyps.

Allergy

March 2025

Department of Otolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery, Beijing TongRen Hospital, Capital Medical University, Beijing, China.

Emerging biologics that selectively target key cytokines present a promising therapeutic alternative for patients suffering from severe, uncontrollable chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyps (CRSwNP). Despite the limited availability of registered biologics for CRSwNP treatment in China, the country is experiencing rapid development in this field. It is imperative to standardize the application of biologic agents in CRSwNP management in preparation for their future integration into the CRSwNP care pathway.

March 2025

Peking University People's Hospital, Peking University Institute of Hematology, National Clinical Research Center for Hematologic Disease, Beijing Key Laboratory of Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplantation, Collaborative Innovation Center of Hematology, Beijing, 100044, China.

Corticosteroids (CSs) are the initial therapy for immune thrombocytopenia (ITP); however, their efficacy is not adequately predicted. As a novel biomarker, the composition of the gut microbiota is non-invasively tested and altered in patients with ITP. This study aims to develop a predictive model that leverages gut microbiome data to predict the CS response in patients with ITP within the initial four weeks of treatment.

Multiple mechanisms and applications of tertiary lymphoid structures and immune checkpoint blockade.

J Exp Clin Cancer Res

March 2025

The 1st Affiliated Hospital, Jiangxi Medical College, Nanchang University, Nanchang, China.

Background: Immune checkpoint blockade (ICB) inhibits tumor immune escape and has significantly advanced tumor therapy. However, ICB benefits only a minority of patients treated and may lead to many immune-related adverse events. Therefore, identifying factors that can predict treatment outcomes, enhance synergy with ICB, and mitigate immune-related adverse events is urgently needed.

Expert consensus on intentional tooth replantation.

Int J Oral Sci

March 2025

Department of Operative Dentistry and Endodontics, Hospital of Stomatology, Guanghua School of Stomatology, Sun Yat-Sen University & Guangdong Provincial Key Laboratory of Stomatology, Guangzhou, China.

Intentional tooth replantation (ITR) is an advanced treatment modality and the procedure of last resort for preserving teeth with inaccessible endodontic or resorptive lesions. ITR is defined as the deliberate extraction of a tooth; evaluation of the root surface, endodontic manipulation, and repair; and placement of the tooth back into its original socket. Case reports, case series, cohort studies, and randomized controlled trials have demonstrated the efficacy of ITR in the retention of natural teeth that are untreatable or difficult to manage with root canal treatment or endodontic microsurgery.
