Melanosis coli is a well-known occurrence in colonic biopsies. The condition is, however, reportedly absent in both neoplastic and hyperplastic colonic polyps. Herein, we describe its occurrence in 10 hyperplastic colonic polyps, some of which showed melanosis in adjacent biopsied mucosa, and 2 colonic adenomata.

Background: Zirconium total knee arthroplasties theoretically have a low incidence of failure as they are low friction, hard wearing and hypoallergenic. We report the five year survival of 213 Profix zirconium total knee arthroplasties with a conforming all polyethylene tibial component.
Methods: Data was collected prospectively and multiple strict end points were used.

Cutaneous Mastocytosis is not an uncommon condition in the pediatric setting. The eruption can have multiple clinical presentations. We present a case of a 3-month-old child with a solitary mastocytoma who was initially diagnosed with recurrent bullous impetigo.

Purpose: To determine the proportion of uveal melanoma patients who accept cytogenetic prognostication and to understand the reasons for their decision and the psychological impact of an adverse prognosis.
Methods: Patients treated by enucleation or local resection for uveal melanoma between 01 January 2003 and 31 December 2006 were identified and the proportion undergoing cytogenetic studies was determined. In-depth interviews of fourteen patients living near our centre were conducted to determine their reasons for accepting cytogenetic testing and their reactions to any results received.

Aims And Objectives: To examine the impact of written and verbal education on bed-making practices, in an attempt to reduce the prevalence of pressure ulcers.
Background: The Department of Health has set targets for a 5% reduction per annum in the incidence of pressure ulcers. Electric profiling beds with a visco-elastic polymer mattress are a new innovation in pressure ulcer prevention; however, mattress efficacy is reduced by tightly tucking sheets around the mattress.
