During the field studies, a -like taxon was collected in Xishuangbanna of Yunnan Province, during an investigation into the diversity of microfungi in the southwest of China. Morphological observations and phylogenetic analysis of combined LSU and ITS sequences revealed that the new taxon is a member of the genus and it is distinct from other species. Therefore, is introduced here.

The present study deals with the growth and development of the horn-shaped gall, which is induced by Schlechtendalia chinensis Bell. on leaves of Rhus chinensis Mill. The relationship between gall formers and their host plants was investigated by means of the activities of various invertases, the expressions of the cell wall invertase gene (INV2), and vacuolar invertase gene (INV3) during gall development.

This paper provides recommendations of one name for use among pleomorphic genera in Dothideomycetes by the Working Group on Dothideomycetes established under the auspices of the International Commission on the Taxonomy of Fungi (ICTF). Molecular phylogeny of Colletotrichum (Sordariomycetes: Glomerellaceae) inferred from multiple gene sequences.

The genus Colletotrichum contains many important plant pathogens mainly distributed in tropical areas. Previous studies that utilized morphology or single genes have failed to resolve the phylogenetic relationships among the species. In this study, sequences of β-tubulin, 28S ribosomal DNA, and ITS region from nine species were analyzed separately and combined to establish a fast method to infer the phylogeny of Colletotrichum using maximum parsimony, maximum likelihood, and Bayesian inference methods.

Cytospora species associated with canker disease are presently difficult to identify because of lack of ex-types cultures with molecular data, few distinguishable characters, and only Internal transcribed spacer (ITS) sequence data is available for most Cytospora strains in GenBank. We report on Cytospora species from the walnut tree in China. Collections were subjected to morphological and phylogenetic study.

The family Microthyriaceae sensuLumbsch and Huhndorf 2010 is a poorly known but interesting family comprising 50 genera consisting of foliar epiphytes or saprobes on dead leaves and stems. We re-visited the family based on examinations of generic types where possible. Members are distributed in Aulographaceae, Asterinaceae, Microthyriaceae, Micropeltidaceae and Palmulariaceae and notes are provided on each of these families.

Epitypification: should we epitypify?
