Cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) image guidance has become more widely used for spine radiosurgery delivery.Our center began a dedicated spine radiosurgery program that utilizes CBCT image guidance technology for target localization. This study prospectively evaluated the spinal cord and cauda equina doses received during single fraction spine radiosurgery treatments in order to determine a safety profile for this technique.

Purpose: To evaluate the results of radiotherapy in cholangiocarcinoma patients managed with various combinations of chemotherapy and surgical resection with selective liver transplantation.

Methods And Materials: From January 1990 to December 1995, 61 patients with histologically confirmed biliary duct adenocarcinoma were seen in the Radiation Oncology Department of the University of Pittsburgh. Median follow-up was 22 months (1 to 91 months).

Interleukin-6 (IL-6) is a pleotropic cytokine implicated in the pathogenesis of local inflammation during viral upper respiratory infections. This study determined if experimental influenza A virus infection causes local IL-6 production. Seventeen healthy, adult subjects were intranasally inoculated, by course drops, with a safety-tested strain of influenza A/Kawasaki/86 (H1N1) virus.
