Feline herpesvirus 1 (FHV-1) is an important pathogen causing infectious rhinotracheitis in felids, mainly infecting the upper respiratory tract and conjunctiva. Multiple vaccines are available to prevent FHV-1 infection, and the antibody levels are always used to evaluate their effectiveness. However, the cellular immunity response following immunization in cats remains unclear.

Introduction: A small number of soybean allergens [including Glycinin (11S) and β-Conglycinin (7S)] in the commercially available corn-soybean meal diet can still cause allergy in some weaned piglets, which may be the result of the interaction of genetic, and nutrition, but the specific mechanism is still unclear.
Methods: In this study, 20 allergic piglets and 20 non-allergic piglets were selected from 92 weaned piglets by skin sensitization tests, which were used to examine the whole sequence genome. The indicators related to humoral and cellular immunity, transcriptomics, and metabolomics analysis were determined by randomly selecting 5 boars in the allergic group and non-allergic group and then performing a validation .

Cows with high body condition scores experience more severe negative energy balance (NEB) and undergo mobilization of more body fat during the peripartum period, leading to more production of nonesterified fatty acids (NEFA) and -hydroxybutyric acid (BHBA). Postpartum insulin secretion is lower, and insulin resistance is stronger in obese cows. Exogenous insulin supplementation has been hypothesized as a key approach for regulating NEFA in these cows.

Trained immunity, characterized by long-term functional reprogramming of innate immune cells, offers promising new directions for veterinary vaccine development. This perspective examines how trained immunity can be integrated into veterinary vaccine design through metabolic reprogramming and epigenetic modifications. We analyze key molecular mechanisms, including the shift to aerobic glycolysis and sustained epigenetic changes, that enable enhanced immune responses.

Background: Physical exercise has been shown to positively impact psychological and behavioral outcomes, yet its influence on professional ethics in educators remains underexplored. Understanding the mechanisms underlying this relationship is essential for developing interventions to promote ethical behavior in educational contexts.
Objectives: This study aims to investigate the relationship between physical exercise and professional ethics among elementary school teachers, with a specific focus on the mediating role of self-control.

Environmental education is crucial for achieving ecological sustainability goals and transforming human behavior to promote responsible consumption. Higher education institutions play a fundamental role in transforming societies aimed at a more sustainable future through the dissemination of environmental education to millions of young people worldwide. Therefore, this study aimed to measure the role of environmental education in transforming students' green behavior (SGB), along with other higher education institutional factors such as green campus initiatives (GCI), institutional ecosystem (IEC), institutional sustainability system (ISS), and institutional support system (ISP) through students' green intentions (SGI).

Background: Executive functions is a crucial ability in the early development of preschool children. While numerous studies have found that music training has a favorable effect on children's executive functions, there is a lack of a consistent perspective on this topic, particularly with regard to the dose-response relationship.
Methods: Systematic searches were conducted of Web of Science, PubMed, Scopus, and China National Knowledge Infrastructure.

In recent, the topic of student engagement has received a great deal of academic attention. However, there are numerous definitions of student engagement. Will this lead to inaccuracies and ambiguities in future definitions of student engagement? Therefore, it is important to have a common understanding of student engagement.

Background: Internet Gaming Disorder (IGD) is a new behavioral addiction. A large number of empirical studies have shown that Internet Gaming Disorder has a high level of comorbidity with other diseases, including depression, anxiety, obesity, internalizing and externalizing behavioral problems, however, little is known about the mediating and moderating mechanisms underlying this relation. The current study adopted a three-time longitudinal study investing the mediating effect of relative deprivation on the association between peer rejection and IGD, and whether this mediating effect was moderated by the grit.

Background And Purpose: Asymptomatic carotid stenosis (ACS) is an independent risk factor for ischemic stroke and vascular cognitive impairment, affecting cognitive function across multiple domains. This study aimed to explore differences in static and dynamic intrinsic functional connectivity and temporal dynamics between patients with ACS and those without carotid stenosis.
Methods: We recruited 30 patients with unilateral moderate-to-severe (stenosis ≥ 50%) ACS and 30 demographically-matched healthy controls.

Objectives: Few studies have examined the underlying mechanisms of education, diets, and cognitive function in older adults. This study analyses the relationship between cognitive trajectories, education, and different dietary patterns in older adults from a network perspective, and further explores their longitudinal associations and mediation effects.
Methods: Data on cognitive trajectories were derived from the Chinese Longitudinal Healthy Longevity Survey (CLHLS) between 2008 and 2018.

Silk protein, as a natural polymer material with unique structures and properties, exhibits tremendous potential in the biomedical field. Given the limited production and restricted properties of natural silk proteins, molecular biotechnology has been extensively applied in silk protein genetic engineering to produce novel silk proteins with specific properties. This review outlines the roles of major model organisms, such as silkworms and spiders, in silk protein production, and provides a detailed introduction to the applications of gene editing technologies (eg, CRISPR-Cas9), transgenic expression technologies, and synthetic biology techniques in silk protein genetic engineering.

Platelet-derived microvesicles (PMVs) and their encapsulated microRNAs (miRNAs) hold immense potential as biomarkers for early non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) diagnosis. This study presents a pioneering liposome-based approach for enhanced miRNA detection within PMVs, employing a lambda exonuclease (λ EXO)-based amplification system encapsulated in immunoliposomes. The platform exploits the novel catalytic functionality of λ EXO, demonstrating its unprecedented capability to catalyze RNA-DNA hybrid substrates.

A bioassay-guided chemical investigation of the endophytic fungus F5 resulted in the discovery of two novel sesquiterpenes, chamilactones A and B ( and ), with a new 9,10-seco-15--isoilludalane carbon skeleton, together with several biosynthetically related precursors (-). Their structures and absolute configurations were elucidated by the analysis of MS, NMR, calculated C chemical shifts, ECD calculations, and single-crystal X-ray diffraction data. It was proposed that an unprecedented carbon-carbon bond cleavage between C-9 and C-10 in - was the key step in the biosynthetic pathway of and .

Malfilamentosides are a class of fungal secondary metabolites characterized by glycosylated furanone scaffold; however, the enzyme that catalyzes the -glycosylation of the furanone core with -acetylglucosamine (GlcNAc) has not yet been identified. In this study, we discovered and identified the biosynthetic gene cluster of the malfilamentosides. and investigations revealed that a glycosyltransferase, MftB, catalyzes the -glycosylation of the furanone scaffold with GlcNAc.

Glyphosate (PMG) is a globally used broad-spectrum herbicide and receives environmental concerns because of its moderate persistence and potential carcinogenicity. Traditional PMG treatment methods often suffer from the generation of a more toxic and persistent aminomethylphosphonic acid (AMPA) intermediate. Herein, we develop a green method with ferrihydrite (FH) and CaO (FH/CaO) via regulating the coordination of PMG with FH and Ca, where the phosphonate group of PMG preferentially binds to FH and its carboxylate side complexes with Ca released by CaO, forming a FH-PMG-Ca ternary surface complex.
