Department of Nephrology, Daping Hospital, Army Medical University, Changjiang Branch Road 10, Yu Zhong district, Chongqing, 400042, China.

Renal injury is common in patients with coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). We aimed to determine the relationship of estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR) and acute kidney injury (AKI) with the characteristics, progression, and prognosis of COVID-19 in-patients. We retrospectively reviewed 1851 COVID-19 patients admitted to 3 hospitals in Wuhan, China.

Background: Poor habits can worsen gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) and reduce treatment efficacy. Few large-scale studies have examined lifestyle influences, particularly eating habits, on GERD in China, and research related to eating quickly, hyperphagia, and eating hot foods is quite limited. The aim of this study was to evaluate the relationship between GERD pathogenesis and lifestyle factors to produce useful information for the development of a clinical reference guide through a national multicenter survey in China.

Colon cancer is a highly metastatic gastrointestinal cancer. BMP activin membrane-bound inhibitor (BAMBI), as a pseudo-receptor of the tumor growth factor (TGF)-β signal transduction pathway, has previously been demonstrated to be involved in human cancers. The present study demonstrated that BAMBI-small interfering (si)RNA regulated the viability and motility of colon cancer by activating TGF-β signaling.

To observe the therapeutic efficacy of alanyl glutamine injection on patients with gastrointestinal function obstacle caused by severe phorate poisoning. A total of 80 eligible patients with gastrointestinal function obstacle caused by severe phorate poisoning were randomly divided into the control group (=40) and treatment group (=40) . The control group was treated with the conventional therapy, which included forbidden diet, atropine, pralidoxime iodide, anti-inflammatory, albumin infusion, ω-3 fish oil fat emulsion, protection of organs function, blood perfusion, and Fat Emulsion, Amino Acids (17) and Glucose Injection.

Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is one of the most common cancers worldwide. miR-34 induces changes of its downstream genes, and plays a key role in altering the apoptotic cycle and pathways of downstream cells, and finally influences the development of cancer. We assessed the relationship of the rs4938723 polymorphism with hepatocellular carcinoma risk in a Chinese population.

[Aberrant Expression Notch1 and Asb2 mRNA in Bone Marrow from Patients with P210(+) Chronic Myeloid Leukemia].

Zhongguo Shi Yan Xue Ye Xue Za Zhi

June 2016

Department of Laboratorial Examination, The People's Hospital of Wuhan University, Wuhan 430060, Hubei Province, China. E-mail:

Objective: To explore the mRNA expression level of Notch1 and ASB2 in bone marrow mononuclear cells of patients with P210(+) chronic myeloid leukemia and the correlation between Notch signaling pathway and ubiquitination in chronic myeloid leukemia, so as to provide the valuable information for investigating the pathogenesis of chronic myeloid leukemia and clinical treatment.

Methods: Bone marrow was collected from 32 patients with newly diagnosed chronic myeloid leukemia and 34 non-hematopathic and healthy individuals (control group), respectively. The mRNA expression levels of Notch1 and ASB2 were detected by real-time quantitative PCR.

Purpose: The purpose was to investigate the correlation between epicardial adipose tissue (EAT) thickness, EAT volume, and severity of coronary artery stenosis.

Methods: We retrospectively enrolled 188 patients that underwent coronary computed tomography (CT) angiography for clinically suspected coronary artery disease using 64-MDCT. Images were reconstructed using a retrospective electrocardiogram-gated algorithm with 0.

Aim: To evaluate the application of the laryngotracheal canal on the reconstruction of the hypopharyngoesophageal defect resulting from resection of stricture with corrosive injury.

Method: Ten patients with the hypopharyngoesophageal stricture after corrosive injury due to ingestion of strong alkali in two cases and strong acid in eight treated surgically from January 2005 to December 2007 were studied. Lipiodol esophagography revealed almost complete obliteration of both sides of sinus piriformis in seven patients and stricture of the lower hypopharynx in two cases, and laryngofiberscopy revealed injury of vocal cord in one case.

Lin Chuang Er Bi Yan Hou Tou Jing Wai Ke Za Zhi

February 2007

Department of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery, the People's Hospital of Wuhan University, Wuhan, China.

Objective: To explore the significance of PML expression in carcinogenesis of laryngocarcinoma and nasopharyngeal carcinoma.

Method: The PML expression in 56 laryngocarcinoma tissues and 34 nasopharyngeal carcinoma tissues were examined by immunohistochemistry. Moreover, the relationship between the PML expression, with the pathologic grade,T stage and lymph node metastasis was analyzed.

Objective: To investigate the expression of p73 and c-fos protein and its significance in the development of children hemangioma.

Methods: The quantitative expressions of p73 and c-fos protein in hemangioma and normal skin were detected by immunohistochemistry.

Results: The expressions of p73 and c-fos protein were strong in proliferative hemangioma while they were very weak in involutional hemangioma and normal skin.
