Background: Breast cancer (BRCA) is one of the most common cancers in women and is the leading cause of cancer-related deaths in women. TNFSF12, originally a member of the TNF superfamily, is considered a key molecule that is associated with poor prognosis of many cancers. However, its role in progression of BRCA remains unclear.

Background: The distal radial metaphyseal-diaphysis junction fractures (DRMDJ) have various treatment methods and are easily lead to complications. This study aims to compare the anterograde elastic stable intramedullary nailing (ESIN-A), retrograde K-wire fixation (KW-R), and retrograde precision-shaping elastic intramedullary nailing (ESIN-RPS) for the treatment of pediatric DRMDJ fractures.
Materials And Methods: A total of 113 patients with DRMDJ fractures (36 in the ESIN-A group, 52 in the KW-R group, and 25 in the ESIN-RPS group) from two centres were retrospectively analysed.

Introduction: Little attention has been given to the factors associated with basilar artery (BA) dolichosis. This study aims to elucidate the prevalence and associated factors of BA dolichosis in patients with acute cerebral infarction (ACI).
Methods: We collected the clinical and laboratory data of 719 patients with ACI admitted to our department.

Background: The neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio (NLR) is positively associated with unfavorable outcomes in patients with cerebral infarction. This study aimed to investigate the relationship between the NLR and the short-term clinical outcome of acute pontine infarction.
Methods: Patients with acute pontine infarction were consecutively included.

Background: The benefit of thrombus aspiration (TA) during primary percutaneous coronary intervention (PPCI) to patients with ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) remains controversial. This study aimed to assess TA's impact on the outcome and prognosis for patients with STEMI and a large thrombus burden during PPCI.
Methods: This retrospective study evaluated consecutive patients with STEMI and a large thrombus burden (thrombolysis in myocardial infraction [TIMI] thrombus grade ≥4) who underwent conventional PPCI (n = 126) or PPCI + TA (n = 208) between February 2017 and January 2019.

Background: Cardiac contractility modulation (CCM) is non-excitatory electrical stimulation for improving cardiac function. This study aimed to evaluate the effects of CCM on structural and electrical remodeling in a rabbit model of chronic heart failure (CHF).
Methods: Thirty rabbits were randomly divided into the sham, CHF, and CCM groups.

This study investigated the efficacy and safety of budesonide/formoterol (B/F) and tiotropium combination in the management of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) in Chinese patients.Between January 2015 and November 2017, 113 eligible Chinese patients with COPD were included and divided into an intervention group and a control group. Sixty-three patients in the intervention group underwent B/F combined tiotropium, while 50 patients in the control group received tiotropium alone.

We investigated the efficacy of concurrent radiotherapy plus S-1 (CRS) for treating unresectable stage III advanced non-small-cell lung cancer (ANSCLC).Seventy five ANSCLC patients were included in this retrospective study. Of those, 40 patients were assigned to an intervention group, and received S-1 (orally at 40 mg/m) twice daily for 14 consecutive days.

Oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC) is one of the most frequent carcinomas all over the world, and the mechanism of its progression remains poorly understood. MicroRNAs have been found to play pivotal roles in many cancers including OSCC. However, the detailed roles of miRNAs in OSCC remain to be fully elucidated.

Osteosarcoma is the most common primary malignancy of the musculoskeletal system, and is associated with excessive proliferation and poor differentiation of osteoblasts. Currently, despite the use of traditional chemotherapy and radiotherapy, no satisfactory and effective agent has been developed to treat the disease. Herein, we found that a flavonoid natural product, galangin, could significantly attenuate human osteosarcoma cells proliferation, without causing obvious cell apoptosis.

Purpose: To develop methods of collagen cross-linking (CXL) in the sclera for the treatment of progressive myopia and to investigate the biomechanical and histological changes that occur in as a result.
Methods: Twenty 14-day-old guinea pigs were divided into 3 groups: the cross-linking group (CL, n = 8), non cross-linking group (NCL, n = 8), and control group (n = 4). The scleras of the right eyes of the guinea pigs in the CL group were surgically exposed and riboflavin was dropped onto the irradiation zone for 20 seconds prior to ultraviolet-A (UVA) irradiation.

Background: Acupuncture has been suggested to treat chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) in China. However, current evidence is insufficient to draw a firm conclusion regarding the effectiveness of acupuncture in COPD. Therefore, this multicenter, randomized, sham-controlled study was designed to evaluate the efficacy of acupuncture for treating patients with COPD.

The aim of the present meta-analysis was to compare the benefits of Bacillus Calmetter-Guerin (BCG) and mitomycin C in the treatment of patients with superficial bladder cancer. The present meta-analysis analyzed the benefits of BCG and mitomycin C in the treatment of patients with superficial bladder cancer by comparing progression-free survival (PFS) rates in patients treated with either of the drugs following transurethral resection. The Medline, Cochrane and EMBASE databases were searched between January 1966 and August 31, 2014 for studies that investigated the efficacy of the intravesical instillation of chemotherapy in patients with non-muscle invasive bladder cancer who had been treated with transurethral resection.

Both mammalian target of rapamycin (mTOR) complexes 1 and 2 (mTORC1/2) are often over-activated in prostate cancer cells and are associated with cancer progression. In the current study, we evaluated the potential anti-prostate cancer activity of INK-128, an ATP-competitive mTORC1/2 dual inhibitor, both in vitro and in vivo. Our results showed that INK-128 exerted potent anti-proliferative activity in established (PC-3 and LNCaP lines) and primary (patient-derived) human prostate cancer cells by inducing cell apoptosis.

Background: Large intracranial occlusive vascular disease is a major contributor to the incidence of stroke worldwide, especially when it involves the middle cerebral artery (MCA). The data on the prognosis of symptomatic atherosclerotic MCA occlusions (MCAO) with concomitant intracranial arterial disease (MCAO-AIS) are limited. MCAO-AIS may reflect the extent of the atherosclerotic intracranial disease, we hypotheses that coexisting intracranial arterial disease influenced the prognosis of MCAO.

Background: Benign adult familial myoclonic epilepsy (BAFME) is a rare form of epilepsy syndrome. The pathogenesis of BAFME remains unclear, though it seems to involve dysfunction of the cerebellum.
Objectives: The purpose of this study was to use proton magnetic resonance spectroscopy ((1)H-MRS) to investigate whether neurochemical changes underlie abnormal brain function in BAFME.
