Department of Gastroenterology and Hepatology, Sichuan Provincial People's Hospital, School of Medicine, University of Electronic Science and Technology of China, Chengdu, Sichuan, China .

Introduction: Visual endoscopic retrograde appendicitis therapy (V-ERAT) involves a single-use video scope, allowing for real-time visualization of the appendiceal lumen during the procedure to treat uncomplicated acute appendicitis (AA). This study aims to compare V-ERAT to antibiotic therapy in treating uncomplicated AA.

Methods: This multicenter, retrospective cohort study was conducted at 9 hospitals in China from August 2021 to July 2023.

Department of Hematology-Oncology, Chongqing Key Laboratory of Translational Research for Cancer Metastasis and Individualized Treatment, Chongqing University Cancer Hospital, Chongqing, 400030, China.

Severe pneumonia (SP) is a prevalent respiratory ailment characterized by high mortality and poor prognosis. Current scoring systems for pneumonia are not only time-consuming but also exhibit limitations in early SP prediction. To address this gap, this study aimed to develop a machine-learning model using inflammatory markers from peripheral blood for early prediction of SP.

Cu-MOFs@AuPtNPs nanozyme-based immunosorbent assay for colorimetric detection of alpha-fetoprotein.

Anal Methods

September 2024

Department of Clinical Laboratory Medicine, The People's Hospital of Chongqing Liangjiang New Area, No. 199 Ren Xing Road, Yubei, Chongqing, 401121, PR China.

Accurate detection of tumor biomarkers in blood is crucial for diagnosing and treating tumor disease. In this study, a metal enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (MeLISA) was fabricated for the ultrasensitive and naked-eye detection of tumor biomarker alpha-fetoprotein (AFP) in clinical serum samples. Herein, novel copper metal-organic frameworks and gold platinum nanoparticle composites (Cu-MOFs@AuPtNPs) were synthesized for the first time by an method, which showed an enormous specific surface area and excellent peroxidase (POx) mimicking properties.

Background: Cervical cancer, one of the prevalent malignancies among females, is closely associated with human papillomavirus (HPV) infection. Homologous to the E6-AP carboxyl terminus (HECT) domain and ankyrin repeat containing E3 ubiquitin-protein ligase 1 (HACE1) plays pivotal roles in various cancers. This study aimed to elucidate the expression of HACE1 in cervical cancer and its correlation with clinical features.

Background And Objective: The association between magnesium depletion score (MDS) and the risk of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) has not been examined to date. Meanwhile, the potential impact of dietary magnesium intake on this association remains unclear. This study aimed to investigate the influence of dietary magnesium intake on the association between MDS and COPD incidence.

This study aimed to comprehensively evaluate the effects of evidence-based nursing (EBN) intervention on wound infection and postoperative complications in patients after appendectomy for acute appendicitis (AA), with the expectation of providing a theoretical basis for postoperative care in AA. Randomised controlled trials (RCTs) on the postoperative application of EBN in patients with AA were searched in PubMed, Web of Science, Cochrane Library, Embase, China Biomedical Literature Database, Wanfang and China National Knowledge Infrastructure from the inception of databases to October 2023. Two authors screened and evaluated the literature based on the inclusion and exclusion criteria, and data were extracted from the final included literature.

The impact of gene polymorphism and hepatic insufficiency on voriconazole dose adjustment in invasive fungal infection individuals.

Front Genet

August 2023

Department of Pharmacy, Sichuan Academy of Medical Sciences and Sichuan Provincial People's Hospital, School of Medicine, University of Electronic Science and Technology of China, Chengdu, China.

Article Synopsis
  • - Voriconazole (VRZ) is an antifungal medication effective against invasive fungal infections, but its dosing and blood levels can vary greatly due to factors like liver metabolism and genetic differences in the CYP2C19 enzyme.
  • - Genetic variations in CYP2C19 significantly affect VRZ levels in the blood, influencing both its effectiveness and the risk of adverse reactions, with research highlighting the benefits of personalized dosing based on genetic testing.
  • - The review discusses the complexities of VRZ dosing in patients with liver issues and the role of other genes (CYP3A4, CYP2C9, ABCB1) in drug adjustments, providing insights and recommendations for optimizing treatment based on individual genetic profiles.
