Background: Guidelines endorse self-reported functional capacity for preoperative cardiovascular assessment, although evidence for its predictive value is inconsistent. We hypothesised that self-reported effort tolerance improves prediction of major adverse cardiovascular events (MACEs) after noncardiac surgery.
Methods: This is an international prospective cohort study (June 2017 to April 2020) in patients undergoing elective noncardiac surgery at elevated cardiovascular risk.

Background: Inflammatory bowel diseases (IBD) are chronic, relapsing-remitting inflammatory conditions with a substantial negative impact on health-related quality of life and work productivity. Treatment of IBD has been revolutionized by the advent of biologic therapies, initially with anti-TNF agents and more recently with multiple alternatives targets, and yet more under development.
Objectives: Approximatively one third of patients do not respond to biologic therapy and more importantly a significant proportion experiences partial response or loss of response during treatment.

Background: The role of diet in inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) remains incompletely understood. Knowledge around the actual dietary advice healthcare professionals provide to individuals with IBD is scarce. Our objective was to describe the dietary beliefs of healthcare professionals and dietary recommendations made to people with IBD.

Median arcuate ligament syndrome or celiac artery compression syndrome is one of the abdominal vascular compression syndromes due to compression of proximal celiac artery by the median arcuate ligament. The median arcuate ligament unites diaphragmatic crura on either side at the level of aortic hiatus. The ligament has a low insertion causing compression of the celiac artery resulting in clinical symptoms of postprandial pain and weight loss.

Background And Objectives: The role of diet in inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) remains incompletely understood. Studies have previously examined dietary practices in IBD, but none have specifically focused on older-onset disease. IBD may put vulnerable groups at risk of nutritional deficiency and associated complications, potentially heightened by comorbidities, frailty and polypharmacy.

Objective: To propose an algorithm for the management of bladder amyloidosis based on a systematic review of the literature, given that the bladder is the second most commonly affected organ of the urinary tract in the course of systemic or localized amyloidosis.
Methods: We searched PubMed, Cochrane Library and Scopus databases utilizing PRISMA methodology from inception to November 30, 2020 (PROSPERO: CRD42020207855).
Results: We included 76 studies with 184 patients (9 case series and 67 case reports).

Objectives: To devise a novel, simple chest x-ray (CXR) scoring system which would help in prognosticating the disease severity and ability to predict comorbidities and in-hospital mortality.
Methods: We included a total of 343 consecutive hospitalised patients with COVID-19 in this study. The chest x-rays of these patients were scored retrospectively by three radiologists independently.
