The aim of the study is to evaluate clinical outcomes of patients with ovarian metastases from colorectal cancer (OM-CRC) treated with complete resection combined with chemotherapy and targeted therapy. Fifty female patients with OM-CRC who were treated in two different hospitals were categorized into three groups: 14 patients with OM-CRC received resection and chemotherapy combined with targeted therapy, 16 patients with OM-CRC only received chemotherapy combined with targeted therapy, and 20 patients with non-OM-CRC (NOM-CRC) received chemotherapy combined with targeted therapy. The primary outcomes, including overall survival (OS), the objective response rate (ORR), disease control rate (DCR), safety, and progression-free survival (PFS), were observed.

Breast cancers enduring treatment with chemotherapy may be enriched for cancer stem cells or tumor-initiating cells, which have an enhanced capacity for self-renewal, tumor initiation, and/or metastasis. Breast cancer cells that express the type I tyrosine kinaselike orphan receptor ROR1 also may have such features. Here we find that the expression of ROR1 increased in breast cancer cells following treatment with chemotherapy, which also enhanced expression of genes induced by the activation of Rho-GTPases, Hippo-YAP/TAZ, or B lymphoma Mo-MLV insertion region 1 homolog (BMI1).

We tested the role of the lymphocyte chemokine XCL1 in a murine model of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). COPD was instigated in mice by a 12-week exposure to cigarette smoke. Some COPD animals additionally received intranasal injections of recombinant XCL1.

Objective: To explore the correlation between the T1ρ values of liver and liver fibrosis by using magnetic resonance (MR) T1ρ imaging.

Materials And Methods: The study consisted of the control group and the hepatic fibrosis (HF) group. Carbon tetrachloride (CCl4) injection was performed once a week for 10 weeks (week 1-10) in the HF group which was divided into 5 subgroups and underwent MR examinations at weeks 4, 5, 6, 10, and 15 respectively post the first CCl4 injection (week 1).

Background: TGF-β-activated kinase-1 (TAK1) has been found to be over-expressed in a variety of solid malignancies and related to tumor growth. The aim of this study was to evaluate the expression level of TAK1 in clear cell renal cell carcinoma (ccRCC) and assess its value as a novel prognostic marker.

Methods: TAK1 mRNA was assessed in 51 paired ccRCC tissues and adjacent normal tissues (ADTs) by real-time PCR.
