(1) Background: Prognostication in patients with cancer receiving palliative radiotherapy remains a challenge. To improve the process, we aim to identify prognostic factors in this population from the literature and offer evidence-based recommendations on prognostication in patients undergoing palliative radiotherapy for non-curable or advanced cancers. (2) Methods: A systematic review was performed on the medical literature from 2005 to 2023 to extract papers on the prognosis of palliative radiotherapy patients with advanced cancer.

Background: The purpose of this study was to investigate associations between self-reported distress (anxiety/depression) and satisfaction with and desire for virtual follow-up (VFU) care among cancer patients during and beyond the COVID-19 pandemic.
Methods: Breast and prostate cancer patients receiving VFU at an urban cancer centre in Toronto, Canada completed an online survey on their sociodemographic, clinical, and technology, characteristics and experience with and views on VFU. EQ5D-5 L was used to assess distress.

Background: Older adults living with frailty represent the largest population of hospitalized patients in Canada, but they do not always receive the quality of care needed. Nurses are well-positioned to screen for frailty, but current frailty screening practices are poorly understood.
Methods: A cross-sectional survey study was conducted over a six-week period with nurses from Alberta, Canada working in acute care with older adults.

We report a 68-year-old lady who presented with Huntington phenocopy with generalized chorea and was genetically proven to have Spinocerebellar ataxia (SCA)17. MRI Brain demonstrated motor band sign, which is most commonly reported in motor neuron disease. This is the first case of motor band sign with SCA 17 and highlights the widening spectrum of radiological signs in SCA 17.

Purpose Of Review: The authors aimed to highlight trends in, and evidence underlying the use of highly conformal radiotherapy (RT) techniques in conventional nonstereotactic palliative RT. The authors reviewed palliative-intent and curative-intent studies relevant to the use of intensity-modulated radiation therapy (IMRT) for the delivery of nonstereotactic conventional regimens to the brain, head and neck, thorax, abdomen and pelvis, and bone metastases.
Recent Findings: The use of IMRT has become standard with certain indications for brain metastases such as hippocampus-avoiding/limiting whole brain RT.

Background: Although neuraxial anesthesia may promote improved outcomes for patients undergoing lower limb revascularization surgery, its use is decreasing over time. Our objective was to estimate variation in neuraxial (versus general) anesthesia use for lower limb revascularization at the hospital, anesthesiologist, surgeon, and patient levels, which could inform strategies to increase uptake.
Methods: Following protocol registration, we conducted a historical cross-sectional analysis of population-based linked health administrative data in Ontario, Canada.

Background: An analytical tool is empirically validated and used to assess the delivered dose to liver lesions accounting for different types of errors in robotic radiosurgery treatment.
Material And Methods: A tool is proposed to estimate the target doses taking into account the translation, rotation, and deformation of a target. Translational errors are modeled as a spatial convolution of the planned dose with a probability distribution function derived from treatment data.

Purpose: To establish a practical contouring strategy with reference atlases for the abdominopelvic bowel bag on treatment planning computed tomography (TPCT) and cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) images.
Methods And Materials: A scoping literature review was done to evaluate the existing definitions and contouring guidelines for bowel bag and small bowel planning-at-risk volume-like structures. A comprehensive definition was proposed for the abdominopelvic bowel bag that expanded the Radiation Therapy Oncology Group Pelvic Normal Tissue Consensus definition.

Background: Anal cancer is a rare cancer with rising incidence. Despite the relatively good outcomes conferred by state-of-the-art chemoradiotherapy, further improving disease control and reducing toxicity has proven challenging. Developing and validating prognostic models using routinely collected data may provide new insights for treatment development and selection.

Inuit are the Indigenous Arctic peoples and residents of the Canadian territory of Nunavut who have the highest global rate of lung cancer. Given lung cancer's mortality, histological and genomic characterization was undertaken to better understand the disease biology. We retrospectively studied all Inuit cases from Nunavut's Qikiqtani (Baffin) region, referred to the Ottawa Hospital Cancer Center between 2001 and 2011.

Background: Stevens-Johnson syndrome (SJS), toxic epidermal necrolysis (TEN), and SJS/TEN overlap syndrome are rare, severe cutaneous adverse reactions usually triggered by medications. In addition to tertiary-level supportive care, various systemic therapies have been used including glucocorticoids, intravenous immunoglobulins (IVIGs), cyclosporin, N-acetylcysteine, thalidomide, infliximab, etanercept, and plasmapheresis. There is an unmet need to understand the efficacy of these interventions.

Background: Parkinson's disease (PD) is a progressive neurodegenerative disorder with a myriad of motor and non-motor symptoms. Although deep brain stimulation (DBS) has a dramatic impact in the lives of people with PD, care delivery remains complex. There is a lack of evidence on the implementation and role of integrated care and self-management support in people with PD with chronic DBS.

When managing older patients with lower-risk hormone-receptor-positive (HR+), HER2 negative (HER2-) early-stage breast cancer (EBC), the harms and benefits of adjuvant therapies should be taken into consideration. A survey was conducted among Canadian oncologists on the definitions of "low risk" and "older", practice patterns, and future trial designs. We contacted 254 physicians and 21% completed the survey (50/242).
