The breath-hold (BH) 3D magnetic resonance cholangiopancreatography method has been reported to suppress "respiratory artifacts"; however, the influence of gastrointestinal peristalsis around the target organs has not been discussed. In contrast, the autonomic nervous system has been reported to affect gastrointestinal peristalsis and BH imaging has been reported to influence venous blood flow signal (BFS) through its involvement with the autonomic nervous system. Background: Although several factors, such as sex and body schema, contribute to gait function, factors for gait dysfunction in Parkinson's disease (PD) have not been elucidated. Postural verticality, a higher-order neural mechanism of gait, is involved in generation of a gait program in healthy individuals; however, its role in patients with PD is unclear. Although subjective postural vertical (SPV), which denotes cognitive information about posture with verticality as the reference axis, is anteriorly and laterally shifted in patients with PD, the presence of sex-related differences in SPV and effect of SPV on gait function remain unclear.

Aim: Although the presence of a walking trail within a neighborhood would be an important environmental determinant of health behaviors, such as exercise and going out-of-home, their longitudinal associations and mediators are still unconfirmed. This study examined the longitudinal associations of walking trail access with exercise behavior and going out-of-home and mediating roles of awareness and use of walking trails on their associations among older adults.
Methods: A four-wave questionnaire-based longitudinal survey was conducted among Japanese older adults (Wave 1: baseline; Wave 2: after one year; Wave 3: after three years; and Wave 4: after five years).

Background: Although previous studies have shown that engaging in physical activity can elevate daily life satisfaction, few studies have identified the specific aspects that can result in this. This study examined whether enjoying moderate-to-vigorous intensity exercises with others for a longer time, but not any aspects of non-exercise physical activity, was associated with higher daily life satisfaction among older adults.
Method: We conducted an intensive longitudinal diary survey of 182 individuals for 1 week and obtained valid data for 853 person-days.

Temperature is thought to be a key factor influencing global species richness patterns. We investigate the link between temperature and diversification in the butterfly family Pieridae by combining next generation DNA sequences and published molecular data with fine-grained distribution data. We sampled nearly 600 pierid butterfly species to infer the most comprehensive molecular phylogeny of the family and curated a distribution dataset of more than 800,000 occurrences.

Licking behavior with various salts in transmembrane channel-like 4 (Tmc4) knockout (KO) mice was observed. In Tmc4 KO mice, a significant decrease in sensitivity to chloride salts, such as NaCl, KCl, and NH4Cl, was observed, while no significant decrease in sensitivity to Na-gluconate was observed. This finding suggests that TMC4 may be involved in the detection of chloride taste.
