The mechanical properties of sclera play an important role in ocular functions, protection, and disease. Modulating the sclera's properties by exogenous crosslinking offers a way to expand the tissue's range of properties for study of the possible influences on the eye's behavior and diseases such as glaucoma and myopia. The focus of this work was to evaluate the effects of genipin crosslinking targeting the porcine perilimbal sclera (PLS) since the stiffness of this tissue was previously found in a number of studies to influence the eye's intraocular pressure (IOP).

Inquiries into properties of brain structure and function have progressed due to developments in magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). To sustain progress in investigating and quantifying neuroanatomical details in vivo, the reliability and validity of brain measurements are paramount. Quality control (QC) is a set of procedures for mitigating errors and ensuring the validity and reliability of brain measurements.

Background And Purpose: Posterior circulation strokes, accounting for 20% of acute ischemic strokes, significantly contribute to morbidity and mortality. Fibrinolysis by rtPA improves outcomes in stroke but the risk of intracranial hemorrhage limits benefit. Arterial recanalization of basilar artery occlusion by thrombolysis or endovascular thrombectomy improves outcomes in posterior circulation strokes.

Objectives: The American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO)/College of American Pathologists (CAP) recommend cold ischemia time (cIT) be <60 min, and formalin fixation time (FFT) 6-72 h, to optimize immunohistochemistry (IHC) based on breast cancer data. We assessed whether cIT and FFT impact IHC in endometrial cancer (EC), and determined which factors affect cIT and FFT.
Methods: Surgical EC cases from 2019 to 2023 were reviewed.

The establishment of the Liver Imaging Reporting and Data System (LI-RADS) in 2011 provided a comprehensive approach to standardized imaging, interpretation, and reporting of liver observations in patients diagnosed with or at risk for hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). Each set of algorithms provides criteria pertinent to the various components of HCC management including surveillance, diagnosis, staging, and treatment response supported by a detailed lexicon of terms applicable to a wide range of liver imaging scenarios. Before its widespread adoption, the variability in the terminology of diagnostic criteria and definitions of imaging features led to significant challenges in patient management and made it difficult to replicate findings or apply them consistently.

We sought to evaluate patterns of healthcare use pre- and postsurgery among patients with gastrointestinal cancer and characterize the association with frailty.
Study Design: Data on patients who underwent surgical resection for liver, biliary, pancreatic, colon and rectal cancer were obtained from the SEER-Medicare database from 2005 to 2020.

We aimed to evaluate the current scope of cardiac arrest RCTs published between 2015 and 2022.
Methods: We conducted a search in October 2023 of MEDLINE, Embase, and Web of Science for cardiac arrest RCTs.
