Metabolic reprogramming occurs in cardiomyopathy and heart failure contributing to progression of the disease. Activation of cardiac Hippo pathway signaling has been implicated in mediating mitochondrial dysfunction and metabolic reprogramming in cardiomyopathy, albeit influence of Hippo pathway on lipid profile is unclear. Using a dual-omics approach, we determined alterations of cardiac lipids in a mouse model of cardiomyopathy due to enhanced Hippo signaling and explored molecular mechanisms.

Discovery of pyridine-based derivatives as FLT3 inhibitors for the treatment of acute myeloid leukemia.

FMS-like tyrosine receptor kinase 3 (FLT3) mutations, the most common genetic alterations found in acute myeloid leukemia (AML) patients, have been pursued as an ideal drug discovery target for the AML therapy. Taking compound 2 as lead, a series of pyridine derivatives bearing 1,2,3-triazole moiety were rationally designed and synthesized. The bioassays confirmed that these derivatives exerted potent antileukemia effects, and compound 12y was found to be the most potent one.

Due to the increasing crop losses caused by common and newly emerging phytopathogens, there is a pressing need for the development of rapid and reliable methods for phytopathogen detection and analysis. Leveraging advancements in biochemical engineering technologies and nanomaterial sciences, researchers have put considerable efforts on utilizing biofunctionalized magnetic micro- and nanoparticles (MPs) to develop rapid and reliable systems for phytopathogen detection. MPs facilitate the rapid, high-throughput analysis and in-field applications, while the biomacromolecules, which play key roles in the biorecognitions, interactions and signal amplification, determine the specificity, sensitivity, reliability, and portability of pathogen detection systems.
