The aims of this study were to explore (1) the challenges and controversies patients experience in managing vaginal, vulvar, penile or anal cancer; their unmet needs; and how this affects their psychosocial functioning and (2) the gaps health care professionals (HCPs) experience in providing psychosocial support and potential improvements in care.

Methods: Semi-structured interviews with patients with vaginal, vulvar, penile or anal cancer and with HCPs were conducted.

Background: While immune checkpoint inhibition (ICI) has revolutionized the treatment of metastatic cutaneous melanoma, no standard treatments are available for patients with metastatic uveal melanoma (UM). Several locoregional therapies are effective in the treatment of liver metastases, such as percutaneous hepatic perfusion with melphalan (M-PHP). The available literature suggests that treatment with ICI following locoregional treatment of liver UM metastases can result in clinical response.

Background: Quantification of pharmacokinetic parameters in dynamic contrast enhanced (DCE) MRI is heavily dependent on the arterial input function (AIF). In the present patient study on advanced stage head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC) we have acquired DCE-MR images before and during chemo radiotherapy. We determined the repeatability of image-derived AIFs and of the obtained kinetic parameters in muscle and compared the repeatability of muscle kinetic parameters obtained with image-derived AIF's versus a population-based AIF.

Purpose: The aim of this study was to investigate the feasibility of image-guided navigation approaches to demarcate breast cancer on the basis of preacquired magnetic resonance (MR) imaging in supine patient orientation.

Methods: Strategies were examined to minimize the uncertainty in the instrument-tip position, based on the hypothesis that the release of instrument pressure returns the breast tissue to its predeformed state. For this purpose, four sources of uncertainty were taken into account: (1) U(ligaments): Uncertainty in the reproducibility of the internal mammary gland geometry during repeat patient setup in supine orientation; (2) U(r_breathing): Residual uncertainty in registration of the breast after compensation for breathing motion using an external marker; (3) U(reconstruction): Uncertainty in the reconstructed location of the tip of the needle using an optical image-navigation system (phantom experiments, n = 50); and (4) U(deformation): Uncertainty in displacement of breast tumors due to needle-induced tissue deformations (patients, n = 21).

Adoptive cell transfer (ACT), either using rapidly expanded tumor infiltrating lymphocytes or T-cell receptor transduced peripheral blood lymphocytes, can be considered one of the most promising approaches in cancer immunotherapy. ACT results in the repopulation of the host with high frequencies of tumor-specific T cells; however, optimal function of these cells within the tumor micro-environment is required to reach long-term tumor clearance. We and others have shown that ongoing anti-tumor immune responses can be impaired by the expression of ligands, such as PD-L1 (B7-H1) on tumor cells.

Purpose: With higher radiation dose, higher cure rates have been reported in prostate cancer patients. The extra margin needed to account for prostate motion, however, limits the level of dose escalation, because of the presence of surrounding organs at risk.
