Background: Patients with microsatellite-instability-high (MSI-H) or mismatch-repair-deficient (dMMR) metastatic colorectal cancer have poor outcomes with standard chemotherapy with or without targeted therapies. Nivolumab plus ipilimumab has shown clinical benefit in nonrandomized studies of MSI-H or dMMR metastatic colorectal cancer.

Fundamental and translational research in ovarian cancer aims to enhance understanding of disease mechanisms and improve treatment and survival outcomes. To support this, we established the Dutch multicenter, interdisciplinary Archipelago of Ovarian Cancer Research (AOCR) infrastructure, which includes a nationwide biobank. Messenger RNA (mRNA) translation is a tightly controlled process frequently deregulated in cancer. Key to this deregulation are transfer RNAs (tRNAs), whose expression, processing and post-transcriptional modifications are often altered in cancer to support cellular transformation. Introduction: The high diagnostic accuracy of ultrasound opens possibilities to shift towards an initial ultrasound approach for the evaluation of focal breast complaints in women, with only additional DBT in case of unclear or suspicious ultrasound findings. About 5% of patients with cutaneous squamous cell carcinoma (cSCC) have a poor prognosis which is associated with a loss of tumor differentiation, invasion and metastasis, all of which are linked to the process of epithelial-to-mesenchymal plasticity (EMP). Here, we showed that the EMP-associated transcription factor ZEB2 drives cSCC heterogeneity which resembles biphasic carcinosarcoma-like tumors. Single cell RNA sequencing revealed distinct subpopulations ranging from fully epithelial (E) to intermediate (EM) to fully mesenchymal (M), associated with the gradual loss of cell surface markers EPCAM, CDH1, ITGB4, and CD200.
