- Anti-obesity medications (AOMs) are being considered for managing obesity in individuals with spinal cord injury and disease (SCI/D), but there's limited understanding of their use in this population.
- Healthcare providers (HCPs) identified four main barriers to AOM use: concerning side effects in SCI/D patients, promotion of poor eating habits, issues with availability and administration, and insufficient evidence or knowledge regarding AOM effectiveness for this group.
- Despite recognizing these barriers and the risks associated with AOMs for SCI/D patients, HCPs expressed a desire for more information to better support their patients.

Introduction: Neurogranin (Ng) is considered a biomarker for synaptic dysfunction in Alzheimer's disease (AD). In contrast, the inflammasome complex has been shown to exacerbate AD pathology.
Methods: We investigated the protein expression, morphological differences of Ng, and correlated Ng to hyperphosphorylated tau in the brains of 17 AD cases and 17 age- and sex-matched controls.
Objectives: To investigate the effectiveness of health care team communication regarding cardiometabolic disease (CMD) risk factors with patients with subacute spinal cord injury (SCI).
Design: Multi-site prospective cross-sectional study.

Therapeutic mild hypothermia has been used widely in brain injury. It has evaluated in numerous clinical trials, and there is strong evidence for the use of hypothermia in treating patients with several types of ischemic / reperfusional (I/R) injuries, examples being cardiac arrest and neonatal hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy.In spite of many basic research projects demonstrating effectiveness, therapeutic hypothermia has not been proven effective for the heterogeneous group of traumatic brain injury patients in multicenter clinical trials.
