This study aims to develop a rapid and convenient test card for simultaneous detection of influenza A and influenza B viruses using quantum dot-based immunochromatographic assay. The test card consists of a test strip and a plastic casing. The test strip is composed of absorbent paper, a buffer pad, nitrocellulose membrane (NC membrane), sample pad, quantum dot-labeled antibody pad, and polyvinyl chloride (PVC) board.

[Report content and prenatal diagnosis of non-invasive prenatal testing for sex chromosome aneuploidy].

To analyze the report content, the methods and results of prenatal diagnosis of high risk of sex chromosome aneuploidy (SCA) in non-invasive prenatal testing (NIPT). A total of 227 single pregnancy pregnant women who received genetic counseling and invasive prenatal diagnosis at Drum Tower Hospital Affiliated to the Medical School of Nanjing University from January 2015 to April 2022 due to the high risk of SCA suggested by NIPT were collected. The methods and results of prenatal diagnosis were retrospectively analyzed, and the results of chromosome karyotype analysis and chromosome microarray analysis (CMA) were compared.

Total parenteral nutrition impairs glucose metabolism by modifying the gut microbiome.

Total parenteral nutrition (TPN) can lead to complications, such as glucose metabolism disorders. While TPN is associated with impairments in intestinal function, the gut barrier and mucosal immunity, the relationship between the gut microbiome and TPN-related glucose metabolism disorders remains to be explored. In a cohort of 256 participants with type 2 intestinal failure, we show that parenteral nutrition providing >80% of total energy induces insulin resistance and a higher risk of complications.

Ticagrelor versus Clopidogrel in the Dual Antiplatelet Regimen for Unruptured Intracranial Aneurysm Treated with Stent-Assisted Coil Embolization: A Single-Center Cohort Study.

Background: Dual antiplatelet therapy (DAPT) of aspirin plus clopidogrel is commonly used in patients with unruptured intracranial aneurysms treated with stent-assisted coil (SAC) embolization. However, the unpredictable clopidogrel efficacy of the 5%-55% nonresponders limits its use. Ticagrelor, as a potential alternative of clopidogrel, is an antiplatelet agent with low resistance rates but uncertain efficacy and safety in these patients.

This study aimed to investigate the effect of MTHFD1L in papillary thyroid cancer (PTC). Tumor tissues and adjacent tissues from 11 patients with PTC were collected, the expression level of MTHFD1L mRNA was detected by quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction (qRT-PCR).

Background & Aims: Parenteral nutrition (PN) is a lifesaving therapy for patients with intestinal failure. Hepatic steatosis is a potentially fatal complication of long-term PN, but the involved pathological mechanisms are incompletely unclarified. Herein, we identify the role of protein phosphatase 2A (PP2A) in the pathogenesis of parenteral nutrition-associated hepatic steatosis (PNAHS).

In this study, we investigated the anticancer potentials of Rhein, an anthraquinone derivative of most commonly used Chinese rhubarb on the rat F98 glioma cells. The experimental studies revealed that Rhein induced cell cycle arrest, caspase mediated apoptosis. It results in the formation of intracellular acidic vesicles in cytoplasm, leading to autophagy.

Total knee arthroplasty conversion after a failed lateral closing wedge high tibial osteotomy with knee hyperextension and secondary ankle degeneration: A case report.

Rationale: High tibial osteotomy (HTO) has been used widely for medial compartment knee osteoarthritis to correct the deformity and relieve symptoms, especially in young patients who are willing to maintain the high activity level. However, the change of bone morphology, ligament imbalance, limb malalignment, and other complications may influence the short-term outcomes of HTO. Some cases may even require conversion to TKA shortly after HTO because of the loss of correction or pain due to accelerated osteoarthritis.
