Chronic rhinosinusitis with and without nasal polyps (CRSwNP and CRSsNP, respectively) is a chronic inflammatory disease affecting almost 5 to 12% of the population and exhibiting high recurrence rates after functional endoscopic sinus surgery (FESS). TGFβ1-related pathways contribute to tissue remodelling, which is one of the key aspects of CRS pathogenesis. Additionally, adenosine signalling participates in inflammatory processes, and CNPase was shown to elevate adenosine levels by metabolizing cyclic monophosphates.

Accurate prediction of fetal weight at birth is essential for effective perinatal care, particularly in the context of antenatal management, which involves determining the timing and mode of delivery. The current standard of care involves performing a prenatal ultrasound 24 hours prior to delivery. However, this task presents challenges as it requires acquiring high-quality images, which becomes difficult during advanced pregnancy due to the lack of amniotic fluid.

Many patients, particularly those aged above 40, experience knee joint pain, which hampers both sports activities and daily living. Treating isolated chondral and osteochondral defects in the knee poses a significant clinical challenge, particularly in younger patients who are not typically recommended partial or total knee arthroplasty as alternatives. Several surgical approaches have been developed to address focal cartilage defects.

As gastric cancer is associated with poor prognosis, the preferred management of locally advanced gastric cancer (GC) and gastroesophageal junction (GEJ) cancer in European patients is perioperative chemotherapy using the FLOT regimen. Previously published data demonstrate that such treatment is associated with improved disease-free survival (DFS) as well as overall survival (OS) compared to ECF/ECX regimen. In order to collect biomaterial for the identification of serum biomarkers of an early response to neoadjuvant chemotherapy, we performed a prospective study and here, we report the safety and clinical efficacy of this prospective cohort.

Chronic rhinosinusitis (CRS) is related to persistent inflammation with a dysfunctional relationship between environmental agents and the host immune system. Disturbances in the functioning of the sinus mucosa lead to common clinical symptoms. The major processes involved in the pathogenesis of CRS include airway epithelial dysfunctions that are influenced by external and host-derived factors which activate multiple immunological mechanisms.

The recent classification of chronic rhinosinusitis (CRS) focusses on investigating underlying immunopathophysiological mechanisms. Primary CRS is subdivided based on endotype dominance into type 2 (that relates mostly to the Th2 immune response with high levels of IL-5, IL-13, and IgE), or non-type 2 (that corresponds to the mix of type 1 and type 3). The treatment selection of CRS is dependent on endotype dominance.
