The diagnosis and management of Achilles tendon ailments continue to be widely discussed by the scientific community. Also, the nomenclature used to describe the tendinopathic lesion in patients changed over the last decades together with the evolution in the knowledge of the physiopathology of Achilles tendinopathy, and unfortunately, through ignorance and possibly laziness, confusion still abounds. Background: Symptomatic muscle herniae are an uncommon cause of chronic exercise induced leg pain. The most common site for muscle hernia is the tibialis anterior muscle. Rotator cuff (RC) tendinopathy is the most common cause of shoulder pain. The effectiveness of electromagnetic transduction therapy (EMTT), a high energetic pulsed electromagnetic field therapy in this field has not been tested yet in combination with extracorporeal shock wave therapy (ESWT). A total of 86 patients with RC tendinopathy were randomized to undergo three sessions of ESWT in combination with 8 sessions of EMTT or sham-EMTT.

Retrospective assessment of post-traumatic amnesia (PTA) must take into account factors other than traumatic brain injury (TBI) which may impact on memory both at the time of injury and subsequent to the injury. These include analgesics, anaesthesia required for surgery, and the development of acute or post-traumatic stress disorder. This is relevant in clinical and medicolegal settings.
