In our continuous efforts to find out leads against the enzyme 15-lipoxygenase (15-LOX), the current study deals with the synthesis of a series of new -alkyl/aralkyl/aryl derivatives of 2-(4-ethyl-5-(1-phenylcarbamoyl)piperidine-4H-1,2,4-triazol-3-ylthio)methylacetamide () with anti-LOX activities. The synthesis was started by reacting phenylisocyanate with isonipecotate that sequentially converted into N-substituted ester (), hydrazide (), semicarbazide () and -ethylated 5-(1-phenylcarbamoyl)piperidine-1,2,4-triazole (). The final compounds, were obtained by reacting with various -alkyl/aralkyl/aryl electrophiles.

Mobile Edge Computing (MEC) is crucial for reducing latency by bringing computational resources closer to the network edge, thereby enhancing the quality of services (QoS). However, the broad deployment of cloudlets poses challenges in efficient network slicing, particularly when traffic distribution is uneven. Therefore, these challenges include managing diverse resource requirements across widely distributed cloudlets, minimizing resource conflicts and delays, and maintaining service quality amid fluctuating request rates.

Drought stress is a primary abiotic stress that causes significant losses to forestry and agricultural production. Therefore, exploring drought-responsive genes and their regulatory mechanism is crucial for plant molecular breeding for forestry and agriculture production safety. Small auxin-up RNA (SAUR) proteins are essential in plant growth and development but show functional diversity in stress response.

Drought poses a significant ecological threat that limits the production of crops worldwide. The objective of this study to examine the impact of soil applied biochar (BC) and peatmoss (PM) on the morpho-biochemical and quality traits of tobacco plants under drought conditions. In the present experiment work, a pot trial was conducted with two levels of drought severity (~ well-watered 75 ± 5% field capacity) and severe drought stress (~ 35 ± 5% field capacity), two levels of peatmoss (PM) @ 5% [PM+ (with peatmoss) and PM- (without peatmoss)] and three levels of rice straw biochar (BC = no biochar; BC = 150 mg kg; and BC = 300 mg kg of soil) in tobacco plants.

The demand for increasingly fine detail in optical lithography for semiconductors necessitates the use of lower-wavelength lithographic light. This drives the need for lenses in optical lithography steppers made of vacuum ultraviolet-transparent (VUV-transparent) materials. In this work, the density functional theory (DFT) study of potassium magnesium fluoride KMgF is presented.

Rice is a globally important food crop which is sensitive to the presence of a metalloid, arsenic (As). There is limited research pertaining to identifying relevant As-tolerant rice germplasm in adaptive breeding research initiatives, despite the fact that As contamination in rice has long been known. This study served to identify the growth performance of different rice genotypes under high levels of As.

Globally, there is a growing concern about tree mortality due to harsh climates and changes in pest and disease patterns. However, experimental studies on the interactions between biotic and abiotic stresses in plants are relatively scarce. In this study, we investigated the interaction between Fusarium solani and water-stressed Dalbergia sissoo saplings.

Zinc oxide nanoparticles have wide range biological, biomedical and environmental applications. However, traditional nanofabrication of ZnONPs uses various toxic chemicals and organic solvents which limit their bio-applications. To overcome this hurdle, Bauhinia variegata derived buds extract was utilized to fabricate ZnONPs.

Background: High temperature stress (HTS) has become a serious threat to rice grain quality and few studies have examined the effects of HTS across multiple stages on rice grain quality. In the present study, we conducted 2 years of HTS treatments under three temperature regimes (32/22 °C, 40/30 °C and 44/34 °C) and HTS durations of 2 days and 4 days at three critical stages: booting, flowering, and a combination of booting and flowering. We employed the heat degree days (HDD) metric, which accounts for both the level and duration of HTS, to quantify the relationships between grain quality traits and HTS.

In the current study, we construct growth charts of body surface area (BSA) for adults using the quantile regression (QR) approach and growth charts of different Gaussian Percentiles (-scores) against age. A cross-sectional data consisting of 3,473 individuals aged 5 or more, both males and females were taken from Multan city. Quantile regression (QR) was used to construct BSA growth charts.

Bisphenol A (BPA) is an endocrine-disrupting toxicant commonly used in the plastics industry, as a result, it is present in large quantities in the environment. Therefore, current study was designed to assess BPA induced neurotoxicity and molecular fate within common carp (Cyprinus carpio), largely used edible fish. Following 6 weeks exposure to BPA 1/5th of 96 h LC (1.

Salinity is the major abiotic stress among others that determines crop productivity. The primary goal is to examine the impact of Zinc Oxide Nanoparticles (ZnO NPs) on the growth, metabolism, and defense systems of pea plants in simulated stress conditions. The ZnO NPs were synthesized via a chemical process and characterized by UV, XRD, and SEM.

The pollution of heavy metals (HMs) is a major environmental concern for agricultural farming communities due to water scarcity, which forces farmers to use wastewater for irrigation purposes in Pakistan. Vegetables grown around the cities are irrigated with domestic and industrial wastewater from areas near mining, paint, and ceramic industries that pollute edible parts of crops with various HMs. Cadmium (Cd) is an extremely toxic metal in arable soil that enters the food chain and damages the native biota, ultimately causing a reduction in plant growth and development.
