Background And Aims: Continuous vegetable production under plastic tunnels faces challenges like soil degradation, increased soil-borne pathogens, and diminished eggplant yield. These factors collectively threaten the long-term sustainability of food security by diminishing the productivity and resilience of agricultural soils. This research examined the use of raw garlic stalk (RGS) waste and arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF) as a sustainable solution for these issues in eggplant monoculture.

Soil remediation for cadmium (Cd) toxicity is essential for successful tobacco cultivation and production. Melatonin application can relieve heavy metal stress and promote plant growth; however, it remains somewhat unclear whether melatonin supplementation can remediate the effects of Cd toxicity on the growth and development of tobacco seedlings. Herein, we evaluated the effect of soil-applied melatonin on Cd accumulation in tobacco seedlings, as well as the responses in growth, physiological and biochemical parameters, and the expression of stress-responsive genes.

Accurate detection of skin lesions through computer-aided diagnosis has emerged as a critical advancement in dermatology, addressing the inefficiencies and errors inherent in manual visual analysis. Despite the promise of automated diagnostic approaches, challenges such as image size variability, hair artifacts, color inconsistencies, ruler markers, low contrast, lesion dimension differences, and gel bubbles must be overcome. Researchers have made significant strides in binary classification problems, particularly in distinguishing melanocytic lesions from normal skin conditions.

Several bacterial strains have developed resistance against commercial antibiotics, and interestingly, supramolecular nanomaterials have shown considerable advantages for antibacterial applications. However, the main challenges in adopting nanotechnology for antibacterial studies are random aggregation, compromised toxicity, multi-step preparation approaches, and unclear structure-function properties. Herein, we designed the amphiphilic tripeptide that acts as a reducing and capping agent for silver metal to form silver-peptide colloidal nanohybrids with the mild assistance of UV light (254 nm) through the photochemical reduction method.
