Extrusion-based 3D printing holds great potential for manufacturing solid propellants. Among the various methods, screw- and plunger-based extrusion are the most frequently reported techniques for propellant 3D printing, each employing different extrusion mechanisms. This paper compares the flow characteristics of these two methods through a combination of simulations and experiments.

A new pickup structure was introduced and modified to improve the resolution of the linear Sagnac optical fiber acoustic sensing system. The maximum strains corresponding to the material, diameter, wall thickness, and height of the pickups were analyzed by simulation. An aluminum cylinder with a diameter of 110 mm, a wall thickness of 3 mm, and a height of 120 mm was chosen as the basic pickup.

This article endeavors to enhance image recognition technology within the context of the Internet of Things (IoT). A dynamic image target detection training model is established through the convolutional neural network (CNN) algorithm within the framework of deep learning (DL). Three distinct model configurations are proposed: a nine-layer convolution model, a seven-layer convolution model, and a residual module convolution model.

Thin structural elements such as large-scale covering plates of aerospace protection structures and vertical stabilizers of aircraft are strongly influenced by gravity (and/or acceleration); thus, exploring how the mechanical behaviors of such structures are affected by gravitational field is necessary. Built upon a zigzag displacement model, this study establishes a three-dimensional vibration theory for ultralight cellular-cored sandwich plates subjected to linearly varying in-plane distributed loads (due to, e.g.

An improved acoustic pick-up is presented to enhance the acoustic sensing sensitivity of the straight line-type Sagnac fiber optic acoustic sensing system. A hollow elastomer cylinder is introduced into the system, and the optical fiber is tightly wound around the cylinder to construct the pick-up. The theoretical analysis was finished, and it showed that the improved pick-up will bring in an extra phase change and let the phase difference increase almost an order.
