A condition-controlled Rh(III)-catalyzed selective synthesis of CF-substituted indoles and pyrido[2,1-]isoindoles from 2-arylpyridines and CF-imidoyl sulfoxonium ylides has been developed. The Cp*Rh(MeCN)(SbF)/HFIP system afforded CF-substituted indoles via triple C-H activation, while the [Cp*RhCl]/MeCN condition selectively furnished CF-substituted pyrido[2,1-]isoindoles through C-H [4 + 1] annulation. The notable advantages of this developed method included readily available starting materials, broad substrate scope, and excellent chemoselectivity.

However, catalytic enantioselective synthesis of structurally diverse boron-stereogenic BODIPYs through intermolecular desymmetrization and BODIPYs with atroposelectivity remains elusive. Here, we showcase rhodium(II)-catalyzed site-specific C-H (hetero)arylations of prochiral BODIPYs and polysubstituted BODIPYs with diazonaphthoquinonesand diazoindenines, providing efficient pathways for the rapid assembly of versatile (hetero)arylated boron-stereogenic and axially chiral BODIPYs through long-range desymmetrization and axial rotational restriction modes.

Objective: The aim of this study was to comprehensively analyze the differences in Chinese dragon's blood (CDB), specifically and , from different geographical origins.
Methods: Metabolomic analysis of CDB was performed by liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS). A reliable ultrahigh-performance liquid chromatography method with a photodiode array detector (UHPLC-PDA) was developed and applied for the quantitative analysis of 12 phenolic compounds in 51 batches of samples.

Myocardial infarction (MI) is one of the most severe cardiovascular diseases (CVD). Traditional Chinese medicines have unique advantages in the treatment of CVD, with Xin-Ke-Shu (XKS) being a commonly used Chinese patent medicine for the prevention and treatment of MI patients. This study aimed to examine the effects of ice crystals and oxidative stress on seed viability in the context of cryopreservation, with the ultimate goal of identifying potential solutions to address the persistently low regeneration rate observed in recalcitrant medicinal plant seeds following cryopreservation. Using differential scanning calorimetry technology alongside seeds germination at different moisture levels after cryopreservation helped determine the best moisture content and freezing process for seeds. Seeds with 17-21 % moisture content and treated with PVS2 vitrification solution showed higher survival rates after cryopreservation.
