Aim: The study aimed to investigate how departments in a Swedish hospital worked with a structured support model between the sessions and what they identified as success factors.

Methods: This qualitative study was conducted in six Swedish municipalities. In total, 63 semi-structured interviews and focus groups were conducted with key stakeholders in the municipalities during a 2-year period.

This paper describes the experiences of first-line managers when working with a structured support model for systematic work environment management in their work groups.
