Gestational diabetes mellitus is a common pregnancy complication that affects approximately 14% of pregnancies worldwide and can lead to adverse maternal and neonatal outcomes. This study aimed to investigate the trajectories of gestational weight gain among gestational diabetes mellitus patients and to inform the development of effective weight management strategies. Demographic and antenatal examination data from 1421 pregnant women diagnosed with gestational diabetes mellitus were retrospectively analysed.

Considering the significant impact of total cholesterol (TC) and vascular endothelin-1 (ET-1) on children sepsis outcomes, this research aimed to explore the association between the levels of plasma cholesterol and vascular endothelin-1 and the severity of sepsis and evaluated its clinical implications. In this study, we examined 250 pediatric patients diagnosed with sepsis between February 2019 and April 2021, collecting data on their plasma levels of TC and ET-1. Depending on the observed outcomes, the participants were divided into 2 categories: a group with a positive prognosis (control group, n = 100) and a group with a negative prognosis (n = 50).

Background: The emergence of carbapenem-resistant (CRKP) has garnered international concern due to its significant antibiotic resistance. Notably, children exhibit distinct resistance mechanisms compared to adults, necessitating a differential approach to antibiotic selection. A thorough analysis of CRKP's epidemiology and drug resistance mechanisms is essential for establishing a robust foundation for clinical anti-infection strategies and precise prevention and control measures.

Necrotizing enterocolitis (NEC) is a common gastrointestinal complication in premature infants, resulting in high morbidity and mortality, and its early detection is crucial for accurate treatment and outcome prediction. Extensive research has demonstrated a clear correlation between NEC and extremely low birth weight, degree of preterm, formula feeding, infection, hypoxic/ischemic damage, and intestinal dysbiosis. The development of noninvasive biomarkers of NEC from stool, urine, and serum has attracted a great deal of interest because to these clinical connections and the quest for a deeper knowledge of disease pathophysiology.

Background: Multiple primary cancer (MPC) refers to the presence of more than one cancer in an individual. Triple primary malignancies are uncommon.
Case: We report the case of a 50-year-old postmenopausal woman in our gynecology department, diagnosed with endometrial cancer, ovarian cancer, and unilateral breast cancer.

Background: This study aims to evaluate the onset, maintenance, side effects s and the effect on newborns of dural puncture epidural (DPE) technique combined with programmed intermittent epidural bolus (PIEB) mode for labor analgesia as compared to conventional epidural (EP) technique combined with continuous epidural infusion (CEI) mode.
Methods: All patients were randomly assigned to receive EP + CEI (Group EC), EP + PIEB (Group EP), DPE + CEI (Group DC) and DPE + PIEB (Group DP). Record the time to reach Numerical Rating Scale (NRS) ≤ 1, ropivacaine consumption, the NRS when the uterine neck whole opened (NRS2), the incidence of bilateral sensory block level to S2, asymmetric block, incomplete analgesia, replacement of catheter, intrapartum fever, as well as the occurrence of neonatal Apgar score ≤ 7 at 1 minute and 5 minutes.

Objective: To observe the therapeutic effect of Si-Ni-San (SNS) on interstitial cystitis/bladder pain syndrome (IC/BPS) in rats, and explore the possible regulatory mechanism of SNS on IC/BPS combined with transcriptome analysis.
Methods: An IC/BPS model of Sprague-Dawley (SD) rats was established with cyclophosphamide (CYP), and the SNS was extracted for treatment. The rats were divided into 4 groups (n = 10 in each group): Control group (blank), cyclophosphamide group (CYP group, CYP injection + normal saline gavage), lower-dose SNS group (LSNS group, CYP injection + 6 g/kg SNS gavage), and higher-dose SNS group (HSNS group, CYP injection + 12 g/kg SNS gavage).

Introduction: Post-dural puncture headache (PDPH) is the most common complication of intraspinal nerve block in gravida. PDPH may be accompanied by neck stiffness, tinnitus, hearing loss, photophobia or nausea.
Patient Concerns: A 33-year-old woman whose dura was accidentally punctured during labor analgesia complained of severe headache, dizziness, and nasal congestion; these symptoms aggravated when she looked up, and her sense of smell was normal 8 hours after catheter removal.

Introduction: TRIO and CNKSR2 have been demonstrated as the important regulators of RAC1. TRIO is a guanine exchange factor (GEF) and promotes RAC1 activity by accelerating the GDP to GTP exchange. CNKSR2 is a scaffold and adaptor protein and helps to maintain Rac1 GTP/GDP levels at a concentration conducive for dendritic spines formation.

Human ciliopathies are hereditary conditions caused by variants in ciliary-associated genes. Ciliopathies are often characterized by multiple system defects. However, it is not easy to make a definite diagnosis in the prenatal period only based on the imageology.

Decidual natural killer (dNK) cells are the tissue-resident and major subpopulation of NK cells at the maternal-fetal interface. It has been demonstrated that dNK cells play pivotal roles in pregnancy, including keeping maternal-fetal immune tolerance, promoting extravillous trophoblast (EVT) cell invasion, and driving uterine spiral artery remodeling. However, the molecular mechanisms haven't been elucidated until recent years.

It has been reported that sevoflurane induces neurotoxicity in the developing brain. Dexmedetomidine is an α2 adrenoceptor agonist used for the prevention of sevoflurane‑induced agitation in children in clinical practice. The aim of the present study was to determine whether dexmedetomidine could prevent sevoflurane‑induced neuroapoptosis, neuroinflammation, oxidative stress and neurocognitive impairment.

The neurotoxin MPP (1-methyl-4-phenylpyridinium ion) disrupts mitochondrial function leading to oxidative stress and neuronal death. Here we examine whether activation of the Keap1-Nrf2 cascade can protect SH-SY5Y neuroblastoma cells from MPP-induced cytotoxicity. Treatment of SH-SY5Y cells with CBR-470-1, an inhibitor of the glycolytic enzyme phosphoglycerate kinase 1 (PGK1), leads to methylglyoxal modification of Keap1, Keap1-Nrf2 disassociation, and increased expression of Nrf2 responsive genes.
