Background: Musculoskeletal disorders were commonly reported in patients with multiple sclerosis. However, the underlying etiology linking Multiple Sclerosis (MS) and musculoskeletal disorders is not well studied. With large-scale Genome-Wide Association Studies (GWAS) publicly available, we conducted genetic correlation analysis to identify shared pleiotropic genetic effects between MS and musculoskeletal traits.

Background: The coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic has significantly affected the global population, with People Living with HIV (PLWH) being particularly vulnerable due to their compromised immune systems. Although vaccination is a crucial preventative measure against the severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) virus, little is understood about the willingness of PLWH to receive a second COVID-19 booster dose and the factors that may influence this decision. This study investigates the willingness of PLWH in China to receive a second COVID-19 booster dose and its influencing factors, comparing these with a group of healthy individuals.

Identification oncogenes is fundamental to revealing the molecular basis of cancer. Here, we found that is overexpressed in human prostate cancer cells and prostate tumors, but its expression is absent in normal prostate epithelial cells and low in benign prostatic hyperplasia. is a FOX transcription factor family member and tightly associated with vocal development.

The proteins encoded by the excision repair cross-complementing (ERCC) family are pivotal in DNA damage repair and maintaining genome stability. However, the precise role of the ERCC family in tumor prognosis and the effectiveness of immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICI) therapy remain uncertain. This study aimed to explore the connection between ERCC mutations and prognosis as well as the response to ICI.

The Eph (erythropoietin-producing human hepatocellular) receptor family, the largest subclass of receptor tyrosine kinases (RTKs), plays essential roles in embryonic development and neurogenesis. The intracellular Sterile Alpha Motif (SAM) domain presents a critical structural feature that distinguishes Eph receptors from other RTKs and participates in recruiting and binding downstream molecules. This study identified SASH1 (SAM and SH3 domain containing 1) as a novel Eph receptor-binding partner through SAM-SAM domain interactions.

Osteoarthritis (OA) is the most common disabling joint disease with no effective disease modifying drugs. Extracellular vesicles released by several types of mesenchymal stem cells could promote cartilage repair and ameliorate OA pathology in animal models, representing a novel therapeutic strategy. In this study, we demonstrated that extracellular vesicles derived from human umbilical cord mesenchymal stem cells (hUC-EVs) could maintain chondrocyte homeostasis and alleviate OA, and further revealed a novel molecular mechanism of this therapeutic effect.

Tumor infarction therapy is a promising antitumor strategy with the advantages of taking a short therapy duration, less risk of resistance, and effectiveness against a wide range of tumor types. However, its clinical application is largely hindered by tumor recurrence in the surviving rim and the potential risk of thromboembolic events due to nonspecific vasculature targeting. Herein, a neovasculature-targeting synthetic high-density lipoprotein (sHDL) nanodisc loaded with pyropheophorbide-a and camptothecin (CPN) was fabricated for photoactivatable tumor infarction and synergistic chemotherapy.

Peripheral T-cell lymphomas (PTCLs) are a group of highly aggressive malignancies with generally poor prognoses, and the first-line chemotherapy of PTCL has limited efficacy. Currently, several novel targeted agents, including histone deacetylase inhibitors (HDACis), have been investigated to improve the therapeutic outcome of PTCLs. Several HDACis, such as romidepsin, belinostat, and chidamide, have demonstrated favorable clinical efficacy and safety in PTCLs.

Background: Delirium is a common and disturbing postoperative complication that might be ameliorated by propofol-based anaesthesia. We therefore tested the primary hypothesis that there is less delirium after propofol-based than after sevoflurane-based anaesthesia within 7 days of major cancer surgery.
Methods: This multicentre randomised trial was conducted in 14 tertiary care hospitals in China.

As a common tumor with high incidence, osteosarcoma possesses extremely poor prognosis and high mortality. Improving the survival of osteosarcoma patients is still a great challenge due to the precipice of advancement in treatment. In this study, a combination strategy of gene therapy and photothermal therapy (PTT) is developed for efficient treatment of osteosarcoma.

The lifespan of double-positive (DP) thymocytes is critical for intrathymic development and shaping the peripheral T cell repertoire. However, the molecular mechanisms that control DP thymocyte survival remain poorly understood. Paxbp1 is a conserved nuclear protein that has been reported to play important roles in cell growth and development.

Imaging contrast agents are widely investigated in preclinical and clinical studies, among which biogenic imaging contrast agents (BICAs) are developing rapidly and playing an increasingly important role in biomedical research ranging from subcellular level to individual level. The unique properties of BICAs, including expression by cells as reporters and specific genetic modification, facilitate various in vitro and in vivo studies, such as quantification of gene expression, observation of protein interactions, visualization of cellular proliferation, monitoring of metabolism, and detection of dysfunctions. Furthermore, in human body, BICAs are remarkably helpful for disease diagnosis when the dysregulation of these agents occurs and can be detected through imaging techniques.

Background: Atopic dermatitis (AD) is an important global health problem affecting children and adolescents and detailed national information of disease burden in China is lacking. We aimed to evaluate the national disease burden of AD in Chinese children and adolescent, to provide the temporal trends over the past 30 years and to predict the burden for the next 10 years.
Methods: The data of AD in China, including incidence, prevalence, and DALY, and population data were obtained from the Global Burden of Disease Study 2019 (GBD study 2019), which were estimated using the DisMod-MR 2.

Acne is a chronic inflammatory skin disorder that profoundly impacts the quality of life of patients worldwide. While it is predominantly observed in adolescents, it can affect individuals across all age groups. Acne pathogenesis is believed to be a result of various endogenous and exogenous factors, but the precise mechanisms remain elusive.

Currently, the optimal lymphodepletion intensity for peripheral blood mononuclear cell-derived neoantigen-specific CD8 + T cell (Neo-T) therapy has yet to be determined. We report a single-arm, open-label and non-randomized phase 1 study (NCT02959905) of Neo-T therapy with lymphodepletion at various dose intensity in patients with locally advanced or metastatic solid tumors that are refractory to standard therapies. The primary end point is safety and the secondary end points are disease control rate (DCR), progression-free survival (PFS), overall survival (OS).

ANKRD11 gene encodes for the large nuclear protein essential for multiple system development including the nervous system. However, the molecular basis for the proper nuclear localization of ANKRD11 has not yet been elucidated. In this study, we have identified a functional bipartite nuclear localization signal (bNLS) between residues 53 and 87 of ANKRD11.

Introduction: It was first reported that germ cell tumor patients suffer from hematologic malignancies 37 years ago. Since then, the number of relevant reports has increased each year, with most cases being mediastinal germ cell tumor. Theories have been proposed to explain this phenomenon, including a shared origin of progenitor cells, the effects of treatment, and independent development.
