Background: Poor uptake to pulmonary rehabilitation (PR) is still challenging around the world. There have been few nationwide studies investigating whether PR impacts patient outcomes in COPD. We investigated the change of annual PR implementation rate, medical costs, and COPD outcomes including exacerbation rates and mortality between 2015 and 2019.

Background: There is ongoing debate regarding the diagnostic criteria for chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD); recent studies have focused on the early COPD detection and management. Here, we compared clinical features and prognosis in patients with FEV1/FVC<0.70 at baseline, according to normalized airflow obstruction status during follow-up.

Purpose: Glioblastoma (GBM) has a poor prognosis after standard treatment. Recently, metformin has been shown to have an antitumor effect on glioma cells. We performed the first randomized prospective phase II clinical trial to investigate the clinical efficacy and safety of metformin in patients with recurrent or refractory GBM treated with low-dose temozolomide.

Objective: The real-world INFORM study analyzed sociodemographics, treatment patterns and clinical outcomes for patients with newly diagnosed advanced epithelial ovarian cancer (EOC) in Australia, South Korea (S.Korea) and Taiwan preceding incorporation of poly(ADP-ribose) polymerase inhibitors into clinical practice.
Methods: Retrospective data from patients diagnosed with EOC (high-grade serous EOC for Taiwan) between January 2014 and December 2018 with ≥12 months follow-up from diagnosis were analyzed descriptively.

Background: To compare the number of lymph nodes (LNs) detected when using Carnoy's solution (CS) versus 10% neutral buffered formalin (NBF) to fix specimens after radical gastrectomy for gastric cancer.
Patients And Methods: LNs were routinely detected using NBF until 2020, since then, for the fixation procedure, residual fat was fixed in CS for 24 hours and dissected again for the detection of further LNs. Of 143 specimens, 117 were included in the NBF group and 26 in the CS group.

The aim of this study was to evaluate the preoperative C-reactive protein (CRP) to albumin ratio (CAR) of patients with gastric cancer and to investigate the factors correlated with perioperative complications. From March 2016 to December 2019, 128 patients who underwent curative gastrectomy for gastric cancer were enrolled in a retrospective study. The preoperative cutoff value of the CAR for predicting postoperative complications was 0.

Background: The purpose of this retrospective study was to determine whether RFA could provide an alternative treatment modality for selected patients who are not candidates for hepatic resection.
Methods: A total of 18 consecutive patients with liver metastases alone from gastric cancer treated with radiofrequency ablation (RFA, n = 11) or hepatic resection (HR, n = 7) at Seoul St. Mary's Hospital, Korea, between January 2000 and September 2014, were enrolled.

To investigate whether the log odds of positive lymph nodes (LODDS) system is a more accurate prognostic tool than the number-based (pN) or ratio-based (rN) lymph node staging system in Korean patients with gastric cancer (GC).The LODDS is a recently proposed staging modality in surgical oncology. However, it is unclear whether LODDS is superior to the pN or rN system in terms of predicting the prognosis of GC patients who underwent radical gastrectomy with extended lymphadenectomy and had a greater number of retrieved lymph nodes.

Background: Automated breast ultrasonography (ABUS) is increasingly used as a screening tool. Several studies have demonstrated a similar diagnostic performance for ABUS compared with handheld ultrasonography (HHUS), but the overall results have been controversial.
Purpose: To compare the clinical utility of ABUS and HHUS for detection and diagnosis of breast lesions.

Sacral insufficiency fracture is a debilitating injury not easily found in general radiologic examinations and is rarely diagnosed, since its symptoms are obscure. It is known to frequently occur in patients with osteoporosis, but the treatment has not yet been established and various kinds of treatment methods are being attempted. Sacroplasty is sometimes performed by applying percutaneous vertebroplasty which is known to be a less invasive treatment.

Purpose Of Review: Hematopoietic cell transplantation (HCT) offers potentially curative therapy for patients with myelofibrosis. What is the current status?
Recent Findings: Changes in transplant strategies allow offering HCT to patients who, because of age or comorbid conditions, were not considered transplant candidates in the past. The omission of high-dose total body irradiation, adjusting doses of busulfan to achieve defined target levels, using fludarabine instead of cyclophosphamide as an immunosuppressive agent, the addition of melphalan, and the incorporation of antithymocyte globulin all appear to have contributed to better tolerability of new regimens.
