Lynch syndrome (LS) is an autosomal dominant hereditary cancer predisposition syndrome whereby the lifetime risk of developing gastrointestinal and genitourinary cancers rises by to over 50%. It is caused by heterozygous variants in the DNA mismatch repair genes- MLH1, MSH2, MSH6 and PMS2, with the majority detected in MLH1 and MSH2. Recurrently observed LS-associated variants in apparently unrelated individuals have either arisen de novo in different families due to mutation hotspots or are inherited from a common ancestor (founder) that lived several generations back.

Background And Aims: The most common adverse event (AE) of orthotopic liver transplantation (OLT) is anastomotic biliary stricture (ABS). Management varies widely between centers, and it is not clear whether a combination of endoscopic dilation of the stenosis followed by multiple plastic stents (MPS) or placement of a fully covered self-expandable metal stent (fcSEMS) is better for the management of post-OLT ABS. This systematic review and meta-analysis aimed to compare the efficacy, safety, and cost of fcSEMS versus MPS in the treatment of post-OLT ABS.

The margarine market is growing globally due to its lower cost, ease of availability, large-scale commercialization, and expanding market in the bakery and confectionary industries. Butter contains greater amounts of saturated fat and has been associated with cardiovascular diseases. The trans fats generated through the hydrogenation process have several adverse impacts on human health, such as the risk of atherosclerosis, coronary heart disease, postmenopausal breast cancer, vision and neurological system impairment, type II diabetes, and obesity.

Breast cancer is a complicated malignancy and is known as the most common cancer in women. Considerable experiments have been devoted to explore the basic impacts of the tumor stroma, particularly the extracellular matrix (ECM) and stromal components, on tumor growth and resistance to treatment. ECM is made up of an intricate system of proteins, glycosaminoglycans, and proteoglycans, and maintains structural support and controls key signaling pathways involved in breast tumors.

Gynecologic cancer, a prevalent and debilitating disease affecting women worldwide, is characterized by the uncontrolled proliferation of cells in the reproductive organs. The complex etiology of gynecologic cancer encompasses multiple subtypes, including cervical, ovarian, uterine, vaginal, and vulvar cancers. Despite optimal treatment strategies, which typically involve cytoreductive surgery and platinum-based chemotherapy, gynecologic cancer frequently exhibits recalcitrant relapse and poor prognosis.

The human microbiome is the complex ecosystem consisting of trillions of microorganisms that play a key role in developing the immune system and nutrient metabolism. Alterations in the gut microbiome have been linked to cancer initiation, progression, metastasis, and response to treatment. Accumulating evidence suggests that levels of vitamins and minerals influence the gut environment and may have implications for cancer risk and progression.

Objective: To prospectively validate the diagnostic performance of Clino-radio-pathological Risk Scoring System (CRiSS) for prediction of inguinal lymph-node metastasis (ILNM) in squamous cell carcinoma of penis.
Materials And Methods: A prospective observational study of all patients with SCC penis was conducted between January 1, 2021, and December 31, 2023, at our institute. Data regarding all CRiSS parameters and MRI features of >8mm size and presence of necrosis or irregular outline were recorded, and patients were assigned CRiSS scores and groups.

In this study, we designed, synthesized and evaluated some novel imidazo[1,2-]pyridine derivatives as potential anti-TB agents. Preliminary screening for anti-TB activity of the synthesized compounds was performed against H37Rv strain using the microplate Alamar Blue assay (MABA). Network pharmacology was used to identify the possible targets and pathways of these compounds against Mtb infection.

Breast cancer, particularly the HER2 positive subtype, presents a formidable challenge in clinical oncology, necessitating innovative therapeutic strategies. Here, we present a novel immunoliposome-based formulation designed for targeted delivery of paclitaxel and miRNA inhibitors to HER2-positive breast cancer cells. Through a rigorous preclinical evaluation encompassing cellular studies and an tumor xenograft model, we demonstrate the formulation's remarkable efficacy in inhibiting cell proliferation, inducing apoptosis, and suppressing tumor growth.

Breast cancer (BC) is the most prevalent malignancy among women globally and the leading cause of cancer-related mortality. Consequently, there is an urgent need for new, effective treatment strategies for breast cancer. Research has shown that the enzyme nudix hydrolase 5 (NUDT5) plays a critical role in promoting breast cancer aggressiveness and serves as a key regulator of oncogenic pathways.

Background: The study aims to explore the burden and trends of prostate cancer (PC) in India at the state level from 1990 to 2021, using data from the Global Burden of Disease (GBD) 2021 study.
Methods: The health metrics including age-standardised incidence rates (ASIR), prevalence rates (ASPR), disability-adjusted life years (ASDR), and mortality rates (ASMR) per 100,000 for PC were analysed across Indian states and union territories. Join point regression analysis was employed to identify significant changes in these metrics over time.

Epidermal inclusion cysts are benign epithelial tumours that can occur in any part of the body. It can be primary or secondary to trauma or surgery that leads to the implantation of the epidermal elements into dermis and subcutaneous tissue forming a benign cyst. There is paucity of literature reporting postauricular epidermal inclusion cysts following a cochlear implant surgery with the functioning implant in situ.

Oleuropein (OLP) holds promise as a therapeutic candidate for both Plasmodium falciparum infection and cancer. It modulates the phosphoinositide 3-kinase (PI3K)-Akt1 signaling pathway to regulate inflammation and restore immune homeostasis. Moreover, it influences the cell death/autophagy axis, along with increasing the antimalarial efficacy of artemisinin.
