In this study, 2-mercapto-1,3,4-thiadiazole (2-MT) self-assembled monolayer (SAM) was formed on copper electrode surface and the resulting 2-MT SAM on copper has been characterized using surface analytical techniques such as Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR) spectroscopy, energy dispersive X-ray (EDX) analysis, atomic force microscopy (AFM) and contact angle measurement (CA). The existence of N and S in the EDX and FT-IR analysis showed that 2-MT molecules were self-assembled on the copper through N and S by chemisorption which indicates the formation of 2-MT SAM on copper surface. Corrosion protection performance of 2-MT SAM on copper was investigated using potentiodynamic polarization studies (PDS), cyclic voltammetry (CV) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM), respectively.

This paper presents a new set of sufficient conditions for controllability of fractional higher order stochastic integrodifferential systems with fractional Brownian motion (fBm) in finite dimensional space using fractional calculus, fixed point technique and stochastic analysis approach. In particular, we discuss the complete controllability for nonlinear fractional stochastic integrodifferential systems under the proved result of the corresponding linear fractional system is controllable. Finally, an example is presented to illustrate the efficiency of the obtained theoretical results.

The present study reports, novel and greener method for synthesis of gold nanoparticles (AuNPs) using 5,7-dihydroxy-6-metoxy-3,4methylenedioxyisoflavone (Dalspinin), isolated from the roots of Dalbergia coromandeliana was carried out for the first time. The synthesized gold nanoparticles were characterized by UV-Vis spectroscopy, high resolution transmission electron microscopy (HR-TEM), selected area electron diffraction (SAED), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR) and X-ray diffraction (XRD). The observed surface plasmon resonance (SPR) at 532nm in the UV-Vis absorption spectrum indicates the formation of gold nanoparticles.

In this paper, we extensively study the global asymptotic stability problem of complex-valued neural networks with leakage delay and additive time-varying delays. By constructing a suitable Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional and applying newly developed complex valued integral inequalities, sufficient conditions for the global asymptotic stability of proposed neural networks are established in the form of complex-valued linear matrix inequalities. This linear matrix inequalities are efficiently solved by using standard available numerical packages.

The recovery of oil from oil-in-water emulsion has been investigated using chitosan/magnesium-aluminium layered double hydroxide hybrid composite (CS-LDHCs) by a single co-precipitation method. Resulting better adsorption efficiency of CS-LDHCs could be observed, indicating the synthesized material was effective to adsorb oil particles from oil-in-water emulsion at acidic pH (pH 3.0) than as-prepared LDH and raw chitosan.

The aim of this work is to gain a better understanding of the formation of lanthanum complex onto iminodiacetic acid and chitosan (CS@La-IDAMP) composite for effective removal of fluoride from aqueous solution using a tea-bag model for the first time. The surface textural and chemical properties of the synthesized composites were characterized by FTIR, SEM with EDAX and mapping images. The experimental data revealed that the fluoride adsorption was rapid, maximum fluoride removal could be removed within 12min contact time at neutral pH in room temperature under batch equilibrium model.

Recovery of oil from oil-in-water emulsion has been investigated by many scientists and it continues to be a challenging task for environmental scientists so far. Among all the techniques, adsorption is found to be an appropriate process for the removal of oil from oil-in-water emulsion owing to its high efficiency and easy operation. A hybrid material, zirconium-chitosan composite (Zr-CS-HC) was prepared to remove the oil from oil-in-water emulsion and oil was measured by extractive gravimetric method.

The objectives of this research were to assess the bioavailability of calcium using equilibrium dialysis after simulated gastric digestion method in 20 commonly consumed green leafy vegetables (GLVs) from the typical Indian diet, provide data on the content of calcium absorption inhibitors, like oxalate, phytate, tannin and dietary fibres, and evaluate the inhibitory effect of these compounds on calcium bioavailability in raw and cooked GLVs. Cooking did not affect significantly calcium bioavailability in any GLVs. Sesbania grandiflora had a very high content of total oxalates, tannins and dietary fibers, which reduced calcium bioavailability.

This article describes the photo-reduction of heavy metal Cr(VI) in aqueous solution using titanium dioxide impregnated chitosan beads (TCB) in the presence of UV irradiation. The synergistic role of TCB results in excellent photocatalytic behavior. The reduction of Cr(VI) by the TCB is mainly due to adsorption coupled photocatalytic reduction mechanism.

The removal of three different dyes namely Reactive Red 2 (RR), Methylene Blue (MB) and Rhodamine B (RB) using titanium dioxide impregnated chitosan beads (TCB) by photocatalytic method has been studied. The TCB was characterized by Fourier transform Infrared (FTIR) Spectral studies and Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM), Energy Dispersive Analysis of X-ray (EDAX). The photocatalytic activity of TCB for the decolorization of the three dyes is much higher than that of bare titanium dioxide, which can be attributed to the synergistic effect of TiO2 and chitosan.
