Role of physical activity and sedentary behavior in venous thromboembolism: a systematic review and dose-response meta-analysis.

Increasing studies have investigated the link between physical activity (PA) and sedentary behavior with venous thromboembolism (VTE) but the existing findings are not consistent and the independent relationship is uncertain. This meta-analysis aimed to comprehensively assess the shape of dose-response relationship between PA and sedentary behavior with VTE and further explore whether the relationship is independent after mutual adjustment. We systematically searched PubMed, Embase and Web of Science from inception to August 1, 2024.

The role of programmed cell death 4 (PDCD4) in multiple myeloma (MM) development remains unknown. Here, we investigated its role and action mechanism in MM. Bioinformatic analysis indicated that patients with MM and high PDCD4 expression had higher overall survival than those with low PDCD4 expression.

Submandibular solid-cystic mass as the first and sole manifestation of occult thyroid papillary carcinoma: A case report.

Background: Occult thyroid papillary carcinoma (OTPC) is typically characterized by initial presentation with cervical lymph node metastasis and can be detected through ultrasound. However, the initial and sole manifestation was a submandibular solid-cystic mass. High-frequency ultrasound, enhanced multislice computed tomography (CT) scan, and thyroid function tests revealed no abnormalities, which is relatively uncommon.

Association between ultra-processed foods and risk of cancer: a systematic review and meta-analysis.

Background: Despite increasing evidence that has shown the association of ultra-processed foods (UPFs) with cancer risk, the results remain inconclusive. We, therefore, conducted the meta-analysis to clarify the association by including recently published studies.

In this study, the performance of an enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) for 17β-E2 quantification was enhanced by using a gold nanoparticle (GNP)-conjugated aptamer. An anti-17β-E2-aptamer-GNP antibody was immobilized on an amine-modified ELISA surface.

Background: Cholera has harmful effects on the fetus but safety data on the oral cholera vaccine in pregnant women are controversial.

Objectives: We conducted the first meta-analysis of studies in pregnant women comparing the effect of oral cholera vaccination on pregnancy outcomes with unvaccinated women. Outcomes of interest were adverse pregnancy outcome, miscarriage, stillbirth, preterm delivery, low birthweight, abortion and malformation.

Oxidized starch (oxStarch) is a major derivative of starch. In present study, 4-acetamide-TEMPO system was firstly applied to prepare specifically oxidized starch, homogeneous 1,4-linked α-D-glucuronan. The impact of oxidant amount, 4-acetamide-TEMPO amount and reaction temperature on the properties of products were investigated.

What Is Known And Objective: Myelosuppression, an adverse drug reaction (ADR), often causes medical treatment termination in cancer patients. It has been known that genetic components, such as single-nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs), influence the risk of myelosuppression at the individual-patient level. However, due to ethnic variation in frequency of genetic polymorphisms, results reported in Caucasian patients may not be generalizable to the Chinese Han population.
