CT radiomics combined with clinical and radiological factors predict hematoma expansion in hypertensive intracerebral hemorrhage.

Objectives: This study aimed to establish a hematoma expansion (HE) prediction model for hypertensive intracerebral hemorrhage (HICH) patients by combining CT radiomics, clinical information, and conventional imaging signs.

Methods: A retrospective continuous collection of HICH patients from three medical centers was divided into a training set (n = 555), a validation set (n = 239), and a test set (n = 77). Extract radiomics features from baseline CT plain scan images and combine them with clinical information and conventional imaging signs to construct radiomics models, clinical imaging sign models, and hybrid models, respectively.

Sonographic features of diffuse giant cell tumor of the tendon sheath in the shoulder: A case report.

A middle-aged woman presented to our hospital with a chief complaint of a mass on the left shoulder for 1 year. The initial lump was small with no pain or tenderness, and the patient had not sought medical attention for numbness in the left shoulder. Clinical examination showed a mass on the left shoulder measuring 11 × 8 × 3 cm approximately with no apparent skin damage or ecchymosis.

An Exploration of Osteosarcoma Metastasis Diagnostic Markers Based on Tumor-Associated Neutrophils.

Background: The high rate of the recurrence and metastasis of osteosarcoma (OS) is the major cause of its poor prognosis. There is a strong correlation between tumor-associated neutrophils (TANs) and tumor progression, progression, and metastasis. This study aimed to identify potential markers that could predict OS metastasis based on analysis of TANs in the tissues of OS patients.

Lenvatinib plus anti-PD-1 therapy represents a feasible conversion resection strategy for patients with initially unresectable hepatocellular carcinoma: A retrospective study.

Purpose: We aimed to investigate the feasibility of lenvatinib plus anti-PD-1 therapy as a conversion therapy for initially unresectable hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC).

Methods: Patients with initially unresectable HCC who received combined lenvatinib and anti-PD-1 antibody between May 2020 and Jan 2022 in Zhongshan Hospital were retrospectively analyzed. Tumor response and resectability were assessed by imaging every two months according to RECIST version 1.

Introduction: Although researchers have done intensive research on depression, its pathogenesis is still not fully explained. More and more evidence suggests that gut microbiota is closely related to the onset of depression; but its specific functional ways are not clearly identified.

Objectives: The purpose of our work was to find out how the gut microbiota was involved in the onset of depression, and to identify the potential ways to link the gut and brain in mice with depressive-like behaviors (DLB).

Backgrounds: Many pieces of evidence demonstrated that there were close relationships between gut microbiota and depression. However, the specific molecular mechanisms were still unknown. Here, using targeted metabolomics, this study was conducted to explore the relationships between microbial metabolites in feces and neurotransmitters in prefrontal cortex of depressed mice.

Drug-loaded nanoparticles have been widely used as synergists in high-intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU) tumor ablation therapy. However, these synergists have certain limitations, such as poor tumor targeting and low accumulation at the tumor site, that restrict the therapeutic efficacy of HIFU. In this study, we utilized drug-loaded nanoparticles conjugated with genetically engineered bacteria which can selectively colonize the hypoxic areas of tumor to facilitate HIFU ablation.

Here, the chronic restraint stress (CRS) model of depression was built.

Mutations in inherited fibrinogen disorders correlated with clinical features in the Chinese population.

Two probands with unknown reasons for low fibrinogen activity were considered to investigate the association between mutations in inherited fibrinogen disorders (IFDs) and clinical features in the Chinese population. A routine coagulation test was conducted on a Sysmex CS5100 coagulation analyzer, and Sanger sequencing was employed to analyze mutations. A PubMed database search through May 2020 was performed to identify relevant studies regarding the congenital fibrinogen disorder epidemic in China.

Purpose: Focused ultrasound (FUS) is a noninvasive method to produce thermal and mechanical destruction along with an immune-stimulatory effect against cancer. However, FUS ablation alone appears insufficient to generate consistent antitumor immunity. In this study, a multifunctional nanoparticle was designed to boost FUS-induced immune effects and achieve systemic, long-lasting antitumor immunity, along with imaging and thermal enhancement.

Minocycline attenuates neurological impairment and regulates iron metabolism in a rat model of traumatic brain injury.

There is currently no effective treatment for neurological impairment caused by traumatic brain injury (TBI). It has been reported that excessive iron production in the brain may be a key factor in neurological impairment. In the present study, we investigated the effects of minocycline, a semi-synthetic tetracycline antibiotic, against TBI-induced neurological impairment and explored its underlying mechanism.

The analgesic efficacy of paravertebral block for percutaneous nephrolithotomy: A meta-analysis of randomized controlled studies.

Introduction: The analgesic efficacy of paravertebral block for percutaneous nephrolithotomy remains controversial. We conduct a systematic review and meta-analysis to explore the analgesic efficacy of paravertebral block for patients with percutaneous nephrolithotomy.

Methods: We have searched PubMed, EMbase, Web of science, EBSCO, and Cochrane library databases, and randomized controlled trials (RCTs) assessing analgesic efficacy of paravertebral block for percutaneous nephrolithotomy are included in this meta-analysis.

[Minimally invasive therapies for hepatocellular carcinoma].

Over 70% of hepatocellular carcinoma patients have not received traditional surgery because of their own disease characteristics and the limitations of traditional surgical methods. With the advancement of medical technology and the development of minimally invasive concepts, minimally invasive surgery, transcatheter arterial chemoembolization, and local ablation have received increasing attention. The combination of various treatment methods can help to strengthen the characteristics of each treatment, but the guiding standard of comprehensive treatment still needs further exploration and research.

A novel controlled release tetrandrine-loaded PDLLA film: evaluation of drug release and anti-adhesion effects in vitro and in vivo.

To investigate the drug release and anti-adhesion effects of a TET (tetrandrine)-loaded PDLLA (poly-DL-lactide) film. Detection of TET release in vitro was carried out by high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) every 2 days following immersion of the tetrandrine-loaded PDLLA film in simulated body fluid until the TET content of the eluate could not be detected. For the in vivo test, TET-loaded PDLLA films were implanted into animal laminectomy models and positive and blank control groups were also set up.

A Spinal Subdural Hematoma Induced by Guidewire-based Lumbar Drainage in a Patient with Ruptured Intracranial Aneurysms.

We present a rare case of spinal subdural hematoma induced by guidewire-based lumbar drainage in a subarachnoid hemorrhage patient with a ruptured intracranial aneurysm. Decreased muscle strength and muscle tension of bilateral lower limbs were noted, and an MRI confirmed the spinal subdural hematoma from the sacral to the thoracic segments. The spinal subdural hematoma evacuation and spinal canal decompression were performed by laminectomy.
