Electroencephalography (EEG) is a widely used tool in neuroscience. To explore the features of the top 100 cited articles related to EEG and aging over the past decade, we conducted a bibliometric analysis using Web of Science Core Collection (WoSCC) data as of January 21, 2024. The selected top 100 cited papers were analyzed using VOSviewer and Excel.

Background: Osteoarthritis (OA) is the most common degenerative joint disease worldwide. Further improving the current limited understanding of osteoarthritis has positive clinical value.
Methods: OA samples were collected from GEO database and endoplasmic reticulum related genes (ERRGs) were identified.

Objective: Patients with heart failure with pulmonary edema may have declining left atrial (LA) function. Left atrial strain (LAS) imaging enables quantitative assessment of LA function. The aim of this prospective study was to assess the LA function and pulmonary edema in patients with heart failure evaluated by cardiopulmonary ultrasonography.

Regan Syrup has the effect of clearing heat, releasing exterior, benefiting pharynx and relieving cough, and previous phase Ⅱ clinical trial showed that the efficacy of Regan Syrup high-dose and low-dose groups was better than that of the placebo group, and there was no statistically significant difference in the safety between the three groups. The present study was conducted to further investigate the efficacy and safety of the recommended dose(20 mL) of Regan Syrup in the treatment of common cold(wind-heat syndrome). Patients who met the inclusion and exclusion criteria were selected and divided into the test group(Regan Syrup+Shufeng Jiedu Capsules placebo), positive drug group(Regan Syrup placebo+Shufeng Jiedu Capsules) and placebo group(Regan Syrup placebo+Shufeng Jiedu Capsules placebo) at a 1∶1∶1 using a block randomization method.

Left atrial (LA) remodeling is closely related to the occurrence of cerebral stroke; however, the relationship between early-stage impaired deformability of the left atrium and stroke/transient ischemic attack (TIA) remains unclear. The aim of this study was to evaluate the changes in LA deformability and to assess its relationship with stroke/TIA events using speckle tracking echocardiography. A total of 365 patients with paroxysmal atrial fibrillation (non-stroke/TIA [n = 318]; stroke/TIA [n = 47]) underwent comprehensive echocardiography with speckle tracking imaging to calculate mean LA longitudinal strain and strain rate values from apical 4-chamber, 2-chamber, and 3-chamber views.

Objectives: Renal tubular injury plays an important role in the progression of diabetic kidney disease. Previous studies demonstrated that artemether, an antimalarial agent, exerts renal tubular protection in diabetes. However, the detailed mechanisms remain unclear.

The present study investigated the effect of Rehmanniae Radix Praeparata(RRP) on the energy metabolism of prefrontal cortex(PFC) of spontaneously hypertensive rats with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder(ADHD) based on the "static Yin and dynamic Yang" theory.Thirty spontaneously hypertensive male rats aged 3 weeks were randomly divided into a model group, a methylphenidate(MPH) group(2 mg·kg~(-1)), and an RRP group(2.4 g·kg~(-1)).

Objective: Most men suffering from depression have different degrees of erectile dysfunction (ED), but the relationship between depression and ED is not clear. This study explored the effect of depression on erectile function in rats and the underlying mechanism.
Methods: The potential targets and key signaling pathways of depression and ED were predicted through bioinformatics analysis, and a depression rat model was established by inducing chronic restraint stress.

Background: Pleural effusions are common in patients with congestive heart failure. However, there is a need to assess systematically the correlation between effusion volume, extravascular lung water and echocardiographic parameters. We used combined cardiopulmonary ultrasound to evaluate the relationship between effusion volume, extravascular lung water, and echocardiographic parameters in patients with congestive heart failure.

Chronic kidney disease (CKD) is complex and current treatment remains limited. As we know, glomerular injury plays a dominant role in kidney disease progression. However, accumulating evidence demonstrated that renal tubules, rather than being victims or bystanders, are major initiators in renal fibrosis progression.

Previous studies have demonstrated that both artemether and enalapril are effective in treating diabetic nephropathy (DN). However, the effects and underlying mechanisms of their combination in treating DN remain unknown. The experimental DN model was induced by injecting streptozotocin (STZ) into male C57BL/6J mice.

Background: In traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), TCM syndrome is a key guideline, and Chinese materia medicas are widely used to treat hepatitis B virus- (HBV-) related hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) according to different TCM syndromes. However, the prognostic value of TCM syndromes in HBV-related HCC patients has never been studied.
Methods: A retrospective cohort of HBV-related HCC patients at Shenzhen Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital from December 2005 to October 2017 was analyzed.

Systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) is an autoimmune disease with multiple organ involvement. Lupus nephritis (LN) is a severe manifestation of the disease and the most common cause of mortality in SLE patients. The etiology of LN is multifactorial and accumulating evidence suggests that mitochondrial dysfunction contributes to LN initiation and progression.

Evidences demonstrated that the effect on anti-proteinuria and renal protection of Chinese herbs combination with ACEi or ARB seemed to be better than ACEi or ARB alone. Astragaloside IV could decrease the urinary albumin excretion rate and could protect against renal injuries linking to its anti-oxidation ability. We aimed to investigate the effect of astragaloside IV combined with ACEi on diabetic nephropathy and to explore whether its underlying mechanism is dependent on anti-oxidation.

The purpose of this research was to evaluate protective-effects of extracts (ABE) on chondrocytes function in osteoarthritis. We performed a systematic investigation of transcriptional and proteomic landscapes to identify the underlying mechanisms behind effects of ABE on chondrocytic functions.

Alport syndrome (AS) is a familial hereditary nephropathy which is characterized by molecular abnormalities in Collagen IV a345. As more gene mutations are discovered, it has been reported that autosomal recessive disease accounts for a smaller proportion (about 4%) of AS patients than previously recognized. We report here a novel mutation in in a Chinese family with autosomal recessive AS.

Diabetic kidney disease (DKD), the leading cause of kidney failure, is characterized by albuminuria and renal hypertrophy. Metabolic alterations and mitochondrial dysfunction play critical roles in DKD initiation and progression. Artemether, a methyl ether derivative of artemisinin used for the treatment of malaria, has been identified as a putative candidate for treating diabetes, but its effect on DKD has not been studied.

Chronic kidney disease (CKD) is commonly characterized by proteinuria and leads to progressive glomerulosclerosis and tubulointerstitial fibrosis. Accumulating evidence implicates mitochondrial dysfunction including reactive oxygen species (ROS) overproduction in the pathogenesis of CKD. Mitochondrial function and ROS production are regulated by mitochondrial uncoupling.

Diabetes and its renal complications are major medical challenges worldwide. There are no effective drugs currently available for treating diabetes and diabetic kidney disease (DKD), especially in type 1 diabetes (T1D). Evidence has suggested that niclosamide ethanolamine salt (NEN) could improve diabetic symptoms in mice of type 2 diabetes (T2D).
