Background: Despite the advancement of new screening strategies and the advances in pharmacological therapies, the cancerization rates of familial adenomatous polyposis (FAP) are stable and even increased in the last years. Therefore, it necessitates additional research to characterize and understand the underlying mechanisms of FAP.

Objective: To determine the genes that drive the pathogenesis of familial adenomatous polyposis (FAP).

Background: Acute ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) remains a serious life threatening event with a poor prognosis due to myocardial ischemia/reperfusion injury despite coronary revascularization. Extracorporeal cardiac shock wave (ECSW) is a safe, effective and non-invasive new method for the treatment of cardiovascular diseases. The current results show that extracorporeal cardiac shock wave provides a new treatment option for patients with severe and advanced coronary heart disease.

The morbidity and mortality rates of cardiovascular diseases (CVDs) are increasing; thus, they impose substantial health and economic burdens worldwide, and effective interventions are needed for immediate resolution of this issue. Recent studies have suggested that noncoding RNAs (ncRNAs) play critical roles in the occurrence and development of CVDs and are potential therapeutic targets and novel biomarkers for these diseases. Newly discovered modes of cell death, including necroptosis, pyroptosis, apoptosis, autophagy-dependent cell death and ferroptosis, also play key roles in CVD progression.

The popularization and widespread use of computed tomography (CT) in the field of medicine evocated public attention to the potential radiation exposure endured by patients. Reducing the radiation dose may lead to scattering noise and low resolution, which can adversely affect the radiologists' judgment. Hence, this paper introduces a new network called PANet-UP-ESRGAN (PAUP-ESRGAN), specifically designed to obtain low-dose CT (LDCT) images with high peak signal-to-noise ratio (PSNR) and high resolution (HR).

Background: Declining beneficial cardiovascular actions of estradiol (E2) have been associated with disproportionate susceptibility to takotsubo syndrome (TTS) in postmenopausal women. However, the underlying mechanisms between E2 and this marked disproportion remain unclear. SmgGDS (small GTP-binding protein GDP dissociation stimulator), as a key modulator of cardiovascular disease, plays protective roles in reducing oxidative stress and exerts pleiotropic effects of statins.

The multiple etiological characteristics of acute kidney injury (AKI) have brought great challenges to its clinical diagnosis and treatment. Renal injury in critically ill patients always indicates hemodynamic injury. The Critical Care UltraSound Guided (CCUSG)-ABCDE protocol developed by the Chinese Critical Ultrasound Study Group (CCUSG), respectively, includes A diagnosis and risk assessment and uses B-mode ultrasound, Color doppler ultrasound, spectral Doppler ultrasound, and contrast Enhanced ultrasound to obtain the hemodynamic characteristics of the kidney so that the pathophysiological mechanism of the occurrence and progression of AKI can be captured and the prognosis of AKI can be predicted combined with other clinical information; therefore, the corresponding intervention and treatment strategies can be formulated to achieve targeted, protocolized, and individualized therapy.

Therefore, regulating microglia activation is considered a potential therapeutic strategy. The neuroprotective effects of gastrodin were evaluated in HIBD model mice, and in oxygen glucose deprivation (OGD)-treated and lipopolysaccharide (LPS)activated BV-2 microglia cells.
