Background: Mindfulness-based stress reduction (MBSR) intervention has been widely used to reduce the burden of symptoms in cancer patients, and its effectiveness has been proven. However, the effectiveness of MBSR on depression, anxiety, fatigue, quality of life (QOL), posttraumatic growth (PTG), fear of cancer recurrence (FCR), pain, and sleep in breast cancer patients has not yet been determined. This study aims to determine the role of mindfulness-based stress reduction therapy in patients with breast cancer.

Infectious diseases are complex inflammatory-immunologic host responses caused by various pathogens, such as viruses, bacteria, parasites, and fungi. In the process of infectious disease development, immune cells are activated, and a substantial number of inflammatory factors are released within the endothelium, which results in coagulation activation and the formation of intravascular thrombi. Furthermore, infection-induced hypercoagulability amplifies the inflammatory response and immune dysregulation.

The Cardiometabolic Index (CMI) represents an innovative metric that encompasses abdominal obesity and lipid levels, offering a comprehensive assessment of cardiometabolic health. It is derived through the multiplication of the waist-to-height ratio by the triglyceride-to-high-density lipoprotein cholesterol ratio. Although obesity and blood lipid levels are known factors affecting sleep quality, the direct correlation between CMI and sleep quality has yet to be elucidated.

Obesity is a major risk factor for poor breast cancer outcomes, but the impact of obesity-induced tumor microenvironment (TME) metabolites on breast cancer growth and metastasis remains unclear. Here, we performed TME metabolomic analysis in high-fat diet (HFD) mouse models and found that glutathione (GSH) levels were elevated in the TME of obesity-accelerated breast cancer. The deletion of glutamate-cysteine ligase catalytic subunit (GCLC), the rate-limiting enzyme in GSH biosynthesis, in adipocytes but not tumor cells reduced obesity-related tumor progression.

Preoperative assessment of axillary lymph node (ALN) status is essential for breast cancer treatment planning. This study prospectively analyzed risk factors for ALN metastasis by comparing high-resolution computed tomography (HRCT) imaging with pathology and developed a nomogram to aid in diagnosis. From April 2023 to May 2024, breast cancer patients confirmed by pathology participated in the study.

Objectives: Ischemic stroke (IS) prevalence rising annually, the necessity of discovering non-interventional genetic influences is progressing. Single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) plays a pivotal role in stable inheritance of disease susceptibility. Based on the relationship between Alpha- Kinase 1 (ALPK1) and traditional IS risk factors especially hyperuricemia, our study investigated the association and function of ALPK1 SNPs with IS susceptibility.

Unsupervised domain adaptation (UDA) has received interest as a means to alleviate the burden of data annotation. Nevertheless, existing UDA segmentation methods exhibit performance degradation in fine intracranial vessel segmentation tasks due to the problem of structure mismatch in the image synthesis procedure. To improve the image synthesis quality and the segmentation performance, a novel UDA segmentation method with structure preservation approaches, named StruP-Net, is proposed.

Oxidative stress (OS) is strongly implicated in the pathophysiology of major depressive disorder (MDD) but the molecular mechanisms remain largely unknown. The purpose of this study is to identify genes related to both OS and MDD, and further to evaluate the utility of these genes as diagnostic markers and potential treatment targets. We searched datasets related to MDD from the Gene Expression Omnibus (GEO) database for differentially expressed genes (DEGs) also related to OS according to GeneCards.

Mathematical performance, a competitive edge for children, has received ample attention from stakeholders, especially from parents. However, the association between parenting style and children's mathematics performance remains open to debate, and longitudinal studies are lacking. Therefore, this study used longitudinal data from four waves of surveys (2012, 2014, 2016, and 2018), with an initial sample of 1042 children (51.

Objective: White matter hyperintensities (WMH) are the most common neuroimaging manifestation of cerebral small vessel disease, and is frequently observed in Alzheimer's disease (AD). This study aimed to investigate the relationship between WMH and cognition and to verify the mediation of grey matter atrophy in this relationship.
Methods: The diffusion tensor imaging (DTI) technique analyses white matter fiber tract to assess white matter integrity.

: Diabetic retinopathy (DR), as a complication of diabetes mellitus (DM), remains a significant contributor to preventable vision impairment in the working-age population. Laser photocoagulation is essential in treating DR in conjunction with anti-vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) injection, steroids, and vitrectomy. This review summarizes the history of laser photocoagulation and highlights its current role and long-term effectiveness in real-world conditions.

Background: The interinfluence of thyroid function and daily physical activity (PA) remains unclear. We examined the causal relationship between genetically proxied thyroid-related traits; hypothyroidism, hyperthyroidism, thyroid stimulating hormone (TSH) and free thyroxine (FT4), and daily PA measures; leisure screen time (LST) and moderate-to-vigorous physical activity (MVPA), using Mendelian randomisation (MR) analysis.
Methods: We used genome-wide association study (GWAS) data from the ThyroidOmics Consortium and the most comprehensive meta-analysis on PA, comprising data on hypothyroidism (n = 53 423), hyperthyroidism (n = 51 823), TSH within the reference range (n = 54 288), fT4 within the reference range (n = 49 269), LST (n = 526 725), and MVPA (n = 608 595) to conduct a bidirectional two-sample MR analysis.
