Background: We aimed to examine the relationship between serum FGF20 (fibroblast growth factor 20) levels and stroke prognosis in a multicenter cohort study.

Methods And Results: Patients with ischemic stroke/transient ischemic attack were prospectively recruited from 5 participating centers and followed up at 3 months and 1 year. FGF20 levels were measured using the ELISA method.

Effects of electroacupuncture at Baihui and Dazhui on perioperative neurocognitive impairment and S100-β, LC3-II, Beclin-1 in patients with colon cancer.

Objective: To investigate the effects of electroacupuncture pre-stimulation on perioperative neurocognitive disorders (PNDs) in patients undergoing colon cancer surgery.

Methods: A total of 80 elderly patients with colon cancer undergoing elective surgery were selected as subjects. Patients in an observation group (N=40) were given electroacupuncture pre-stimulation at Baihui and Dazhui points, while those in a control group (N=40) were given sham electroacupuncture pre-stimulation.

Methods: In this retrospective study, a total of 200 patients who underwent painless bronchoscopy in The First People's Hospital of Wenling from January 2018 to January 2021 were selected as research subjects. These patients were assigned into an experimental group and a control group with 100 patients in each group.

Background After cardiopulmonary resuscitation, the protective effects of therapeutic hypothermia induced by conventional cooling are limited. Recently, esophageal cooling ( EC ) has been shown to be an effective, easily performed approach to induce therapeutic hypothermia. In this study we investigated the efficacy of EC and its effects on early markers of postresuscitation cardiac and neurological injury in a porcine model of cardiac arrest.
