Clinical value of retinol binding protein, C-reactive protein and urine microalbumin in patients with chronic renal disease and ischemic cerebrovascular disease.

Objective: To explore the diagnostic value of retinol binding protein (RBP), C-reactive protein (CRP) and urine microalbumin (UMA) for ischemic cerebrovascular disease (ICD) in patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD).

Methods: In this study, a total of 118 patients with CKD were selected and grouped into two groups: a group of patients who were complicated with ICD (CKD+ICD group, n=58), and a group of patients with CKD only (CKD group, n=60). Then, the patients in the CKD+ICD group were further classified into a good prognosis group and a bad prognosis group according their modified Rankin scale score at sixth months after discharge.

Identification of immune-related regulatory networks and diagnostic biomarkers in thyroid eye disease.

Background: Thyroid eye disease (TED) is an orbit-associated autoimmune inflammatory disorder intricately linked to immune dysregulation. Complete pathogenesis of TED remains elusive. This work aimed to mine pathogenesis of TED from immunological perspective and identify diagnostic genes.

Comparison of the effect of hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis in the treatment of end-stage renal disease.

Objective: To compare the clinical effects of hemodialysis (HD) and peritoneal dialysis (PD) in the treatment of end-stage renal disease (ESRD) patients.

Methods: Clinical data of ESRD patients who received HD (n=74) and PD (n=77) for more than 12 months in the First People's Hospital of Tonglu County from October 2020 to November 2021 were retrospectively selected. Renal function indexes, blood pressure, and complication rates in the two groups before the first dialysis and at the end of the observation period were compared.

Artificial Intelligence Segmentation Algorithm-Based Optical Coherence Tomography Image in Evaluation of Binocular Retinopathy.

On account of optical coherence tomography (OCT) images with intelligent segmentation algorithm, this article investigated the clinical efficacy and safety of docetaxel combined with fluorouracil. In this study, 60 patients with retinopathy treated in hospital were selected as the research objects. There were 30 cases in each group, the control group was treated with conventional images, and the observation group was treated with algorithm-based OCT images.

Utility of serum amyloid A as a potential prognostic biomarker of acute primary basal ganglia hemorrhage.

Background: Intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH) can lead to inflammation. Serum amyloid A (SAA) is an acute phase protein, which might be implicated in acute brain injury. We ascertain relationship between serum SAA and inflammation, severity plus outcome after ICH.

Serum tenascin-C predicts severity and outcome of acute intracerebral hemorrhage.

Background: Tenascin-C is a matricellular protein related to brain injury. We studied serum tenascin-C in acute intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH) and examined the associations with severity and outcome following the acute event.

Methods: Tenascin-C samples were obtained from 162 patients with acute hemorrhagic stroke and 162 healthy controls.

Efficacy of lumbar cistern drainage combined with intrathecal antibiotherapy for the treatment of ventriculo-subarachnoid infections following surgery for hypertensive intracerebral hemorrhage.

Objective: The aim of this study was to investigate the efficacy of lumbar cistern drainage combined with intrathecal injection of antibiotics (LCD-ITI) in treating postoperative intracranial infections of hypertensive intracerebral hemorrhage (pHIH-ICI).

Methods: Sixty pHIH-ICI patients were randomly divided into the control group and the treatment group, with 30 patients in each group. Conventional treatment was performed in the control group, while LCD-ITI was performed in the treatment group.

Role of signal peptide-Cub-Egf domain-containing protein-1 in serum as a predictive biomarker of outcome after severe traumatic brain injury.

Background: Signal peptide-Cub-Epidermal growth factor domain-containing protein 1 (SCUBE1), a marker for coagulation, is secreted under hypoxia and inflammatory conditions from platelet α granules. This study was designed to determine the associations of serum SCUBE1 concentrations with trauma severity and prognosis after severe traumatic brain injury.

Methods: Serum SCUBE1 concentrations of 113 patients and 113 controls were measured.
