Objective: To explore influencing factors of functional recovery after ankle fracture of typeⅡdegree and above supination-external rotation.

Methods: Clinical data of 120 patients with ankle fractures of typeⅡdegree and above supination-external rotation admitted from February 2019 to April 2021 were retrospectively analyzed. According to American Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Society (AOFAS), patients were divided into excellent group with 73 patients (90 to 100 points), good group with 35 patients (75 to 89 points), and fair group with 12 patients(<50 points).

Article Synopsis
  • Intervertebral disc degeneration (IVDD) is a common chronic issue that leads to back pain and reduced mobility, and this study explores how extracellular vesicles from human umbilical cord mesenchymal stem cells (hUCMSCs) can influence IVDD.
  • Using RNA sequencing, researchers found important molecules, MALAT1 and miRNA-138-5p, which play a role in IVDD by regulating gene expression in mouse nucleus pulposus tissues.
  • The study suggests that hUCMSC-derived EVs can reduce ferroptosis (a form of cell death) in cells affected by IVDD, indicating potential new therapies for improving this condition.

The process of tissue damage, repair, and regeneration in the skeletal muscle system involves complex inflammatory processes. Factors released in the inflammatory microenvironment can affect the phenotypic changes of macrophages, thereby changing the inflammatory process, making macrophages an important target for tissue repair treatment. Mesenchymal stem cells exert anti-inflammatory effects by regulating immune cells.

Integrin-beta 1 (ITGB1) is aberrantly overexpressed or downregulated in solid cancers; however, its prognostic value remains controversial. Therefore, we conducted a meta-analysis to explore whether ITGB1 expression is correlated with overall survival (OS) and the clinicopathological characteristics of patients with solid cancers. We systematically searched the PubMed, Embase, and Web of Science databases for eligible studies published up to June 1, 2017.
