Objectives: The purpose of this study was to determine whether our new thinking guidance named OPACCUS (oxygen metabolism, perfusion, arterial tension, cardiac output, systemic congestion, unregulated host response and search for inciting illness event) with 7 questions you need to ask before shock therapy and evidences provided by critical ultrasound considering hemodynamics, the unregulated host response and inciting illness event would improve mortality in shock patients.
Design: A multicenter, prospective, observational cohort study.
Setting: Intensive care units of 20 hospitals in Southwest China.

Background: The association between fibrinogen-to-albumin ratio (FAR) and in-hospital mortality in patients with spontaneous intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH) has been established. However, the association with long-term mortality in spontaneous ICH remains unclear. This study aims to investigate the association between FAR and long-term mortality in these patients.

Sepsis causes dysfunction in different organs, but the pathophysiological mechanisms behind it are similar and mainly involve complex hemodynamic and cellular dysfunction. The importance of microcirculatory dysfunction in sepsis is becoming increasingly evident, in which endothelial dysfunction and glycocalyx degradation play a major role. This study aimed to investigate the effects of hydrogen-rich saline (HRS) on renal microcirculation in septic renal failure, and whether Sirt1 was involved in the renoprotective effects of HRS.

Background: Although a variety of risk factors for pneumonia after spontaneous intracerebral hemorrhage have been established, an objective and easily obtainable predictor is still needed. Lactate dehydrogenase is a nonspecific inflammatory biomarker. In this study, we aimed to assess the association between lactate dehydrogenase and pneumonia in spontaneous intracerebral hemorrhage patients.

Postoperative dysnatremias, characterized by imbalances in serum sodium levels, have been linked to increased resource utilization and mortality in surgical and intensive care patients. The management of dysnatremias may involve medical interventions based on changes in sodium levels. In this study, we aimed to investigate the impact of postoperative changes in natremia on outcomes specifically in patients undergoing craniotomy.

Pilot trials have suggested that repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) may reduce limb spasticity in multiple sclerosis (MS). We carried out the current meta-analysis to synthesize currently available evidence regarding such correlation. Up to November 2022, five international electronic databases (Cochrane CENTRAL, PubMed, Embase, Web of Science, and CINAHL) and four Chinese electronic databases (CBM, CNKI, WanFang Data, and VIP) were systematically searched to identify randomized trials comparing active rTMS and sham stimulation in patients with MS-related spasticity.

Non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) is the most common type of lung cancer. Although significant advances have been achieved in the treatment of NSCLC during the past two decades, the 5-year survival rate of patients with NSCLC remains <20%. Thus, there is an urgent requirement to further understand the molecular mechanisms that promote NSCLC development and to identify novel therapeutic targets.

Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus-2 (SARS-CoV-2) is the causative agent of the pandemic disease COVID-19, which is so far without efficacious treatment. The discovery of therapy reagents for treating COVID-19 are urgently needed, and the structures of the potential drug-target proteins in the viral life cycle are particularly important. SARS-CoV-2, a member of the Orthocoronavirinae subfamily containing the largest RNA genome, encodes 29 proteins including nonstructural, structural and accessory proteins which are involved in viral adsorption, entry and uncoating, nucleic acid replication and transcription, assembly and release, etc.

Objective: To explore the impact of humanized nursing care on negative emotions and quality of life (QOL) of patients with mental disorders.
Methods: Among the 112 patients with mental disorders treated in our hospital from July, 2017 to November, 2019, 53 who received routine care served as the control group and 59 who received humanized nursing care were in the observation group. Changes in self-rating anxiety scale (SAS) and self-rating depression scale (SDS) scores were compared for mental status assessment, and the generic quality of life inventory-74 (GQOL-74) was used to evaluate their QOL.

Objective: This study aimed to explore the role of primary nursing in patients with hypertensive intracerebral hemorrhage (HICH) undergoing minimally invasive surgery.
Methods: We randomly assigned 106 patients with HICH treated in our hospital to receive routine nursing (54 cases, group A) or primary nursing in addition to routine nursing (52 cases, group B). The scores of negative emotions, incidence of complications, quality of life, and prognosis of all patients were recorded.
