An important aspect of the pathophysiology of early brain damage (EBI) after subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH) is inflammasome-mediated neuroinflammation. It has been demonstrated that C3aR activation exacerbates neuronal damage in a number of neurological disorders. This study aims to explore the role of C3a in activating the NLRP3 inflammasome and exacerbating neuroinflammation after SAH.

Background: Prolonged mechanical ventilation is associated with an increased risk of mortality in these patients. However, there exists a significant clinical need for novel indicators that can complement traditional weaning evaluation methods and effectively guide ventilator weaning.

Objectives: To investigate the specific relationship between mechanical power normalized to dynamic lung compliance (Cdyn-MP) and weaning outcomes in patients on mechanical ventilation for more than 24 hours, as well as those who underwent a T-tube weaning strategy.

Background: The pathophysiological mechanism underlying chemotherapy-induced neuropathic pain (CINP) remains unclear. Sensory neuronal hypersensitivity in the dorsal root ganglion (DRG) is essential for the onset and maintenance of chronic pain. Satellite glial cells (SGCs) in the DRG potentially affect the function of sensory neurons, possibly by mediating extracellular or paracrine signaling.

Mechanical power is associated with weaning outcome in critically ill mechanically ventilated patients.

Sci Rep

November 2022

Department of Emergency Medicine, Lianyungang Clinical College of Nanjing Medical University, The First People's Hospital of Lianyungang City, Lianyungang, 222000, Jiangsu, China.

Several single-center studies have evaluated the predictive performance of mechanical power (MP) on weaning outcomes in prolonged invasive mechanical ventilation (IMV) patients. The relationship between MP and weaning outcomes in all IMV patients has rarely been studied. A retrospective study was conducted on MIMIC-IV patients with IMV for more than 24 h to investigate the correlation between MP and weaning outcome using logistic regression model and subgroup analysis.

KIF26B-AS1 Regulates TLR4 and Activates the TLR4 Signaling Pathway to Promote Malignant Progression of Laryngeal Cancer.

J Microbiol Biotechnol

October 2022

Department of Otolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery, The First People's Hospital of Lianyungang City, No.182, Tongguan Road, Haizhou District, Lianyungang City, Jiangsu Province 222100, P.R. China.

Laryngeal cancer is one of the highest incidence, most prevalently diagnosed head and neck cancers, making it critically necessary to probe effective targets for laryngeal cancer treatment. Here, real-time quantitative reverse transcription PCR (qRT-PCR) and western blot analysis were used to detect gene expression levels in laryngeal cancer cell lines. Fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH) and subcellular fractionation assays were used to detect the subcellular location.

Department of Thoracic Surgery, The First People's Hospital of Lianyungang, Lianyungang, Jiangsu, China; The Affiliated Lianyungang Hospital of Xuzhou Medical University, Lianyungang, Jiangsu, China; The First Affiliated Hospital of Kangda College of Nanjing Medical University, Lianyungang, Jiangsu, China; Lianyungang Clinical College of Nanjing Medical University, Lianyungang, Jiangsu, China. Electronic address:

Non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) ranks highly among malignant tumors in the world in terms of morbidity and mortality. By using bioinformatics, we screened and obtained a novel oncogene WDR43, a member of the WD-repeat protein encoding family that is closely related to tumor progression. PCR and immunohistochemistry showed that WDR43 is highly expressed in NSCLC.
