Enhanced response and safety of combining dunhuang 'moxibustion classic' acupuncture with carbamazepine in treating neuropathic tinnitus and identifying risk factors affecting sleep quality.

Objective: To evaluate the response and safety of combining acupuncture based on the Dunhuang "Moxibustion Classic" with carbamazepine in the treatment of neuropathic tinnitus.

Methods: A retrospective analysis was conducted on 105 patients with neuropathic tinnitus treated at The First People's Hospital of Lanzhou City from January 2019 to February 2023. Of these, 49 patients received acupuncture based on the Dunhuang "Moxibustion Classic" (research group), while 56 patients received conventional acupuncture (control group).

Prognostic factors in acute hypertensive intracerebral hemorrhage: impact of minimally invasive puncture and drainage.

Objective: To analyze the prognostic factors in patients with acute hypertensive intracerebral hemorrhage (HICH) undergoing minimally invasive puncture and drainage, providing scientific evidence to enhance clinical treatment strategies.

Methods: A retrospective analysis was conducted on 350 patients with acute HICH treated at Gansu Provincial Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine and the First People's Hospital of Lanzhou City from March 2017 to January 2024. Patients were divided into two groups based on surgical method: the control group (n = 211) received traditional craniotomy, while the observation group (n = 139) underwent minimally invasive puncture and drainage.

Clinical value of vitamin K testing in children aged 1-2 years with vitamin D deficiency rickets.

Objective: to investigate the clinical value of vitamin K testing in children with vitamin D deficiency rickets. Methods: fifty children with vitamin D deficiency rickets admitted to our hospital from March 2021 to March 2022 were recruited as the case group using convenience sampling; and an additional 50 children without bone health diseases during the same period of health checkup were selected as the control group. The relevant indexes between the two groups were compared.

Objective: To analyze the effects of Huoxue Qufeng Decoction combined with Tongguan Liquefying Acupoint Penetration therapy on swallowing function and quality of life in patients with ischemic stroke.

Methods: A total of 145 patients with post-stroke dysphagia admitted to Dingxi People's Hospital from January 2019 to May 2022 were selected with 65 patients in the control group and 80 patients in the observation group. The control group received Huoxue Qufeng Decoction alone, while the observation group received additional Tongguan Liquefying Acupoint Penetration therapy.

Spatial and Temporal Distribution Characteristics and Cytotoxicity of Atmospheric PM in the Main Urban Area of Lanzhou City.

PM, as one of the most harmful pollutant in the atmospheric environment and population health, has received much attention. We monitored PM levels at five sampling sites in the Lanzhou City and collected PM particles from two representative sites for cytotoxicity experiment. The cytotoxicity of PM samples on A549 cells and migration ability of the cells were respectively detected by Cell Counting kit-8 (CCK-8) assay and scratch assay.

Introduction: Systemic implications create a critical need for identification of dry eye patients with Sjögren syndrome (SS). Herein, we aimed to determine expressions of type I-III interferons (IFNs) in dry eye patients with or without underlying SS and their differential diagnosis.

Methods: A prospective, observational, case-control study was performed on 140 dry eye patients among which 78 patients were diagnosed with SS.

Clinical Observations on the Combined Use of Hyperbaric Oxygenation and Conventional Medications in the Management of Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus Concurrent With Sudden Deafness.

The aim of this study is to investigate the effectiveness of combining hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) with conventional pharmacological interventions in the management of type 2 diabetes mellitus concurrent with sudden deafness. A cohort of 96 patients diagnosed with sudden deafness was enrolled and subsequently randomized into 2 groups: a treatment group (n = 50) and a control group (n = 46). The control group received standard conventional treatment aimed at enhancing microcirculation and nutritional support for nerves, while the treatment group underwent conventional symptomatic treatment coupled with HBOT.

Accumulating evidence has indicated certain non-coding RNAs (ncRNAs), functioning as competing endogenous RNAs (ceRNAs), impacting the progression of cardiovascular diseases. Nonetheless, the specific involvement of ncRNA-mediated ceRNA regulatory mechanisms in TIC remains elusive.

The clinic data of 10 patients with acute TIAD who were admitted to the Department of Cardiac Surgery, Second Hospital of Lanzhou University or the First People's Hospital of Lanzhou, between January 2016 and August 2022, were retrospectively studied.

Background: The mitochondria and endoplasmic reticulum (ER) communicate via contact sites known as mitochondria associated membranes (MAMs). Many important cellular functions such as bioenergetics, mitophagy, apoptosis, and calcium signaling are regulated by MAMs, which are thought to be closely related to ischemic reperfusion injury (IRI). Four case reports of left anterior descending restenosis treated via the internal mammary artery: A literature review.

Objective: To analyse four cases of intervention via the internal mammary artery-anterior descending branch and provide and summarise the clinical treatment experience.

Methods: The clinical data of four patients with distal restenosis of a left anterior descending artery (LAD) anastomosis after left internal mammary artery (LIMA)-LAD bypass surgery, who were admitted to the Gansu Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases between March 2013 and April 2022, were retrospectively analysed and reviewed together with the relevant literature.

Results: Among the four patients, one was treated with intracoronary stenting via the internal mammary artery route, two were treated with intracoronary drug-coated balloon dilation (one of whom underwent fractional flow reserve [FFR] testing), and two underwent FFR testing (one of whom had a negative test result until the end of the procedure and continued to take medication during follow-up; the other patient had a positive result and further interventions).

Functional decoding and meta-analytic connectivity modeling in thyroid-associated ophthalmopathy.

Background: Thyroid-associated ophthalmopathy (TAO) is an orbital disease closely related to thyroid disease with a long-lasting duration that can be blinding and disabling. Recently, structural and functional neuroimaging studies have been performed in TAO patients, but studies have reported inconsistent results. This quantitative meta-analysis was conducted to identify convergent patterns of abnormal brain function among different studies in TAO.

Frequency of metastases within the hypothalamic-pituitary area and the associated high-risk factors in patients with brain metastases.

Objective: Brain radiotherapy often results in impairment of hypothalamic-pituitary (HT-P) function, which in turn causes secretory dysfunction of related hormones. In this paper, the frequency of metastasis in the HT-P area and its high-risk factors in patients with brain metastasis were retrospectively analyzed, and thus provide experimental evidence for protecting HT-P area during whole brain radiotherapy (WBRT).

Methods: A retrospective analysis was performed on the data of patients with brain metastasis diagnosed by cranial magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) at the First Hospital of Lanzhou University from 2017 to 2020.
