Department of Endocrinology, The First People's Hospital of Jingmen City, No.168 Xiangshan Avenue, Jingmen City, Hubei Province, 448000, People's Republic of China.

Background: The important role played by circular RNA (circRNA) in promoting the progression of papillary thyroid cancer (PTC) is attracting ever more attention among medical researchers. However, what the precise contribution is of circRTN1 in PTC progression remains unclear. The study was designed to analyze the role and mechanism of circRTN1 in regulating PTC progression.

Brain tumors are the brain diseases with the highest mortality and prevalence, and magnetic resonance imaging has high-resolution and multiparameter. As the basis for realizing the quantitative analysis of brain tumors, automatic segmentation plays a vital role in diagnosis and treatment. A new network model is proposed to improve the accuracy of convolutional neural network segmentation of brain tumor regions and control the parameter space scale of the network model.

Objectives: Neuroinflammation and apoptosis are two key factors contributing to early brain injury (EBI) after subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH) and are strongly associated with a poor prognosis. Recently, equilibrative nucleoside transporter 1 (ENT1) was emerged to accelerate the severity of inflammation and cell apoptosis in several nervous system diseases, including cerebral ischemia, neurodegeneration and epilepsy. However, no study has yet elaborated the expression levels and effects of ENT1 in EBI after SAH.

Humans are adversely affected by exposure to cadmium (Cd) as it induces oxidative stress which damages kidneys, bones pulmonary tissues, liver, cardiovascular, immune, reproductive systems and influences endocrine secretions. In the present study tubotaiwine treatment regulated systolic, diastolic and mean arterial blood pressure of the Cd exposed rats. Tubotaiwine significantly promoted vascular responsiveness to Phe, ACh and SNP and reversed Cd mediated decrease in eNOS and increase in iNOS expression.

Memantine has demonstrated beneficial effects on several types of brain insults via therapeutic mechanisms mainly related to its activity as a receptor antagonist of N-methyl-d-aspartate. However, the influences of memantine on intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH) remain obscure. This research probed into the neurovascular protective mechanisms of memantine after ICH and its impacts on neuronal nitric oxide synthase (nNOS) ser1412 phosphorylation.

Many studies have shown that genetic factors, environmental factors, and bad living habits, especially smoking, are risk factors for lung cancer. However, not all smokers develop lung cancer, which may be related to different genetic backgrounds. Currently, most research has investigated the GSTM1, XRCC1, XRCC3, CYP2D6, and C188T genes.
