Development of a duplex reverse transcription recombinase-aided amplification assay for respiratory syncytial virus incorporating an internal control.

Arch Virol

July 2019

Key Laboratory for Medical Virology, National Health and Family Planning Commission, National Institute for Viral Disease Control and Prevention, Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention, No. 155 Changbai Road, Changping District, Beijing, 102206, China.

Human respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) is a common viral pathogen that causes lower respiratory tract infections in infants and children globally. In this study, we developed a duplex reverse transcription recombinase-aided amplification (duplex-rtRAA) assay containing an internal control in a single closed tube for the detection of human RSV. The internal control in the amplification effectively eliminated false-negative results and ensured the accuracy of the duplex-rtRAA system.

Neuron damage contributes to ischemic brain injury. Although FMS-like tyrosine kinase-3 (FLT3) plays a critical role in neuron survival, its function and molecular mechanism in cerebral ischemia/reperfusion injury is unclear. In the present study, we exposed SH-SY5Y cells to oxygen and glucose deprivation/reoxygenation (OGD/R) to mimic ischemia/reperfusion injury.

BACKGROUND The aim of this study was to investigate the clinical correlation between sPD-1 (soluble programmed cell death-1) and PD-1 (programmed cell death-1) expression and cancer pain. MATERIAL AND METHODS sPD-1 content in peripheral blood was determined by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). T cell surface-positive rate was determined by flow cytometry, and the correlation of clinical characteristics of patients with cancer pain was analyzed.

Hypoxic-ischemic brain damage (HIBD) occurs due to intrauterine hypoxia ischemia influencing the energy supply for fetal brain cells, which affects the metabolism of the brain to make the brain suffer a severe damage. Erythropoietin (EPO), which regulates hemacytopoiesis, is a kind of cytokine. EPO is sensitive to hypoxia ischemia.

The present study was undertaken to investigate the underlying mechanisms of long noncoding RNA OIP5-AS1 via regulating miR-410 to modulate Wnt-7b in the progression of glioma. To address this problem, we measured the expression of OIP5-AS1 and miR-410 in glioma tissues by qRT-PCR. Glioma U87 cells were transfected with OIP5-AS1 siRNA or miR-410 inhibitors.

To investigate the effects of transcatheter arterial chemoembolization (TACE) combined with precise radiation therapy (RT) on p53 gene expression and prognosis of patients with hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). A total of 80 patients with unresectable HCC treated in the First People's Hospital of Qinhuangdao from March 2009 to March 2015 were randomly divided into TACE group (n=40) and TACE + RT group (n=40). Enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) was used to detect the levels of p53 in both groups before and after treatment.

Application of computed tomography venography in the diagnosis and severity assessment of iliac vein compression syndrome: A retrospective study.

Medicine (Baltimore)

August 2018

Department of General Surgery, The First Hospital of Hebei Medical University Department of Neurology, The First Hospital of Shijiazhuang, Hebei, China.

The objectives are to evaluate the application of computed tomography venography (CTV) in the diagnosis of iliac vein compression syndrome (IVCS), and to assess the factors related to the incidence and development of IVCS and the recurrence of varicose veins.Imaging data of 120 patients with chronic venous disease (CVD) of the lower extremity and 68 subjects without CVD (control) were retrospectively reviewed by radiologists blinded to the groups. CTV, conventional venography, and Doppler ultrasound were compared in the diagnosis and contributing factors for IVCS were also analyzed.

Apolipoprotein E deletion has no effect on copper-induced oxidative stress in the mice brain.

Biosci Rep

October 2018

Key Laboratory of Hebei Neurology, Shijiazhuang, Hebei 050000, China

The current study was designed to investigate effect of copper administration on oxidative damage to the brain in mice and to explore the putative neuroprotective effects rendered by apolipoprotein E (ApoE). Male C57BL/6 and wild-type mice were randomly assigned into four groups, mice wild-type mice treated with either copper or saline. Copper sulphate pentahydrate or saline (200 µl) were administered intragastrically daily for 12 weeks.

Objectives: SATB2 has been shown to be markedly reduced in colorectal cancer (CRC) tissues relative to paired normal controls; however, the mechanism behind remains not well understood. To investigate why SATB2 was down-regulated in CRC, we attempted to analyse it from the angle of miRNA-mRNA modulation.

Materials And Methods: SATB2 expression was detected in CRC tissues using immunohistochemistry and verified using real-time PCR on mRNA level, followed by analysis of clinicopathological significance of its expression.

The present study aimed to evaluate the expression of human epidermal growth factor receptor (HER4) isoforms and their ligand neuregulin 1 (NRG1) isoforms in human primary colorectal cancer (CRC). The mRNA expression of HER4 isoforms JM-a, JM-b, CYT1 and CYT2, and their ligand isoforms NRG1 I, II and III in CRC tissues and adjacent normal tissues were quantified by reverse transcription-quantitative polymerase chain reaction analysis. Univariate analysis and logistic regression analysis were performed to analyze the association between HER4 and NRG1 expression and lymph node metastasis in CRC.
