This study investigated whether microbubbles activated by low-frequency ultrasound enhanced the anti-tumor effects of curcumin in glioma cells. CCK8 proliferation assay, scratch migration assay, and transwell invasion assay were performed to estimate the proliferation, migration, and invasion rates of the glioma cells in blank control and different treatment groups, respectively. Quantitative RT-PCR (qRT-PCR) analysis was performed to determine the relative expression levels of VEGF and NCAM mRNAs in the various experimental groups.

Angiogenesis is a complex process in the immunosuppressed low-grade gliomas (LGG) microenvironment and is regulated by multiple factors. N-methyladenosine (m6A), modified by the m6A modification regulators ("writers" "readers" and "erasers"), can drive LGG formation. In the hypoxic environment of intracranial tumor immune microenvironment (TIME), m6A modifications in glioma stem cells are predominantly distributed around neovascularization and synergize with complex perivascular pathological ecology to mediate the immunosuppressive phenotype of TIME.

Article Synopsis
  • The study aimed to evaluate the effects of Lactobacillus E6-1 on the growth and apoptosis of the human oral cancer cell line Cal-27.
  • The MTT assay indicated that Lactobacillus E6-1 inhibited cell proliferation in a dose-dependent manner, while agarose gel electrophoresis revealed DNA fragmentation indicative of apoptosis.
  • Additionally, Western blot analysis showed increased expression levels of cyt-c, caspase-9, and caspase-3, suggesting that Lactobacillus E6-1 effectively induces apoptosis in Cal-27 cells.

Glioma has been a major healthcare burden; however, the specific molecular regulatory mechanism underlying its initiation and progression remains to be elucidated. Although it is known that many miRNAs are involved in the regulation of malignant phenotypes of glioma, the role of miR-4476 has not been reported yet. In the present study, we identify miR-4476 as an upregulated microRNA, which promotes cell proliferation, migration, and invasion in glioma.
