This study investigated whether microbubbles activated by low-frequency ultrasound enhanced the anti-tumor effects of curcumin in glioma cells. CCK8 proliferation assay, scratch migration assay, and transwell invasion assay were performed to estimate the proliferation, migration, and invasion rates of the glioma cells in blank control and different treatment groups, respectively. Quantitative RT-PCR (qRT-PCR) analysis was performed to determine the relative expression levels of VEGF and NCAM mRNAs in the various experimental groups.

Background: Tafolecimab, a fully human proprotein convertase subtilisin/kexin type 9 (PCSK9) monoclonal antibody developed for the treatment of hypercholesterolemia, demonstrated robust lipid-lowering efficacy and favorable safety in previous short-term studies. We aimed to assess the long-term efficacy and safety of tafolecimab in Chinese non-familial hypercholesterolemia (non-FH) patients.
Methods: Non-FH patients at high or very-high cardiovascular risk with screening low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C) level ≥1.

Background: Despite a great deal of existing research on nurses' job stress and intention to stay, it is still unclear how the association between Chinese nurses' job stress and intention to stay is affected by presenteeism and family functioning.
Aims: This study aimed to investigate the correlations of Chinese nurses' job stress, presenteeism, and family functioning with their intention to stay and clarify the mediating effect of presenteeism and the moderating effect of family functioning on the association between their job stress and intention to stay.
Method: A cross-sectional study of 1,008 nurses was performed in a major general hospital in Qiqihar City, Heilongjiang Province, China.

Unlabelled: Nurses' mental health is related to the quality of medical care and the outcome of treatment, and has become an important issue in nursing management. However, the role of burnout in the relationship between job satisfaction and psychological distress have not been evaluated. This study aimed to examine the prevalence of psychological distress among Chinese nurses and explore the associations of job satisfaction and burnout with psychological distress.

Angiogenesis is a complex process in the immunosuppressed low-grade gliomas (LGG) microenvironment and is regulated by multiple factors. N-methyladenosine (m6A), modified by the m6A modification regulators ("writers" "readers" and "erasers"), can drive LGG formation. In the hypoxic environment of intracranial tumor immune microenvironment (TIME), m6A modifications in glioma stem cells are predominantly distributed around neovascularization and synergize with complex perivascular pathological ecology to mediate the immunosuppressive phenotype of TIME.

The role and mechanism of lncRNA XIST (XIST) in the development of rheumatoid arthritis (RA) was explored in this study. RT-qPCRs were performed to detect the expression of XIST and miR-126-3p in synovial tissues and cells. Target gene prediction and luciferase gene reporter assay were used to validate downstream target genes of XIST.

Glioma has been a major healthcare burden; however, the specific molecular regulatory mechanism underlying its initiation and progression remains to be elucidated. Although it is known that many miRNAs are involved in the regulation of malignant phenotypes of glioma, the role of miR-4476 has not been reported yet. In the present study, we identify miR-4476 as an upregulated microRNA, which promotes cell proliferation, migration, and invasion in glioma.

Background: The long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) have been shown as a novel class of transcripts with no protein coding functions. LncRNAs can play diverse roles in cancer cell proliferation, differentiation, metastasis, and apoptosis. However, the exact contributions of lncRNA KDM5B anti-sense RNA 1 (KDM5BAS1) to non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) remain poorly understood.
