Autoimmune hepatitis (AIH) is a chronic liver disease due to autoimmune system attacks hepatocytes and causes inflammation and fibrosis. Intracellular signalling and miRNA may play an important role in regulation of liver injury. This study aimed to investigate the potential roles of microRNA 143 in a murine AIH model and a hepatocyte injury model.

To evaluate the short-term and long-term efficacy of endoscopic submucosal dissection (ESD) in the treatment of early low rectal cancer and precancerous lesions. Inclusion criteria: (1) Distance from the lower margin of tumor to the anal was ≤ 5 cm. (2) Early low rectal cancers were any size rectal epithelial tumors with infiltration depth limited to the mucosa and submucosa, which were diagnosed by postoperative pathology as high-grade intraepithelial neoplasia or adenocarcinoma of the rectum with infiltration depth of intramucosal or submucosal cancer (M or SM stage).

Initial intravitreal injection of high-dose ganciclovir for cytomegalovirus retinitis in HIV-negative patients.

Background: The purpose of this study is to examine the clinical outcomes achieved by using initial high-dose intravitreal ganciclovir injections to treat cytomegalovirus retinitis in patients without human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) infection.

Methods: Twenty-four eyes (24 patients) with cytomegalovirus retinitis received multiple intravitreal injections of ganciclovir in weekly intervals. A higher dose (6 mg) of ganciclovir was applied at the first intravitreal injection, and a lower dose was used for maintenance.

[Incidence of Bone Marrow Involvement in Different Pathological Type Lymphoma Patients].

Objective: To analyze the incidence of bone marrow involvement in patients with different pathological types of lymphoma.

Methods: The results of bone marrow tests including bone marrow aspiration(BMA), flow cytometry detection, bone marrow biopsy(BMB) and F-FDG PET/CT, were analyzed retrospectively in 702 cases of newly diagnosed lymphoma with bone marrow assessment in our hospital from October 2000 to September 2016. [Artesunate Suppresses Cell Proliferation of THP-1 Cells by Inducing Apoptosis].

To evaluate the clinical assessment of regional resection and superficial lobe total resection in the treatment of benign tumors of the parotid gland. One hundred and nighty-five patients operated in the First Hospital of Peking University from January 1998 to March 2017 with benign tumor of the parotid gland were retrospectively analyzed. Methods: The method of real-time fluorescence quantitative RT-PCR (Taqman probe) was established to detect the expression levels of HB-1 gene; then the sensitivity, specificity and repeatability of this assay were evaluated and verified. The HB-1 gene expression levels in bone marrow of 183 cases of ALL, 70 cases of acute myeloid leukemias (AML), 52 cases of non-malignant hematologic diseases and 24 healthy hematopoietic stem cell donors were detected.

Background: The Griffiths Mental Development Scales (GMDS) are used in many countries to assess the development of children from birth to 8 years. There is a need for accurate and culturally appropriate developmental assessment tools for Chinese children. Here, we adapted the GMDS for use in Chinese children and compare the developmental trajectories between Chinese and British children.

JinqiJiangtang tablets for pre-diabetes: A randomized, double-blind and placebo-controlled clinical trial.

This study observed the efficacy and safety of JinqiJiangtang tablets (JQJT tablets, a traditional Chinese patent medicine) for pre-diabetes. Four hundred patients with pre-diabetes at five centres were treated for 12months and followed for an additional 12months to investigate the preventative effects of JQJT tablets (Registration ID: ChiCTR-PRC-09000401). The incidence rate of diabetes mellitus was the primary endpoint.

[Progress on the Therapeutic Approaches for Malignant Tumor with Superior Vena Cava Syndrome].

Patients with thoracic malignant tumors often suffered from superior vena cava syndrome (SVCS), featured by high morbidity and mortality. Traditionally treated with palliative approaches, SVCS has been widely studied and novel therapeutic approaches have been investigated, focusing on drug therapy, interventional therapy, radiation therapy, surgery and proton therapy. In this manuscript, the progress of therapeutic approaches for SVCS is summarized.

Antifungal prophylaxis of patients undergoing allogenetic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation in China: a multicenter prospective observational study.

Background: Antifungal prophylaxis is currently regarded as the gold standard in situations with allo-genetic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (allo-HSCT). However, the epidemiological information regarding prophylaxis of invasive fungal diseases (IFDs) is not clear in China.

Methods: We report the first large-scale (1053 patients) observational study of the prophylaxis and management of IFDs among patients with allo-HSCT in China.
