Effect of the LncRNA-LIN-miRNA-9-DRD2 regulatory network on the development of the neuronal system after inhalation of the anesthetic sevoflurane.

Exp Brain Res

November 2024

Department of Operation Management, Huangshi Central Hospital, 141 Tianjin Road, Huangshi Port District, Huangshi City, Hubei, 435000, China.

Animal studies have shown that exposure of newborns to general anesthesia drugs can lead to neurodegenerative diseases and subsequent decline in learning and memory abilities. The neurotoxicity of general anesthesia drugs can also occur in the fetus. Therefore, in order to investigate the effect of the Long non-coding RNA(LncRNA)-LIN-microRNA(miRNA)-9-Dopamine receptor D2(DRD2) regulatory network on the development of the neuronal system after the inhalation of the anesthetic sevoflurane, RT-qPCR was used to detect the mRNA levels of LncRNA-LIN, miRNA-9, and DRD2.

Chronic migraine is a common central nervous system disorder characterized by recurrent, pulsating headaches. However, the extent and mechanisms of hypothalamic involvement in disease progression have not been thoroughly investigated. Herein, we created a chronic migraine mouse model using repeated intraperitoneal injections of nitroglycerin.

The anti-tumor potential of sinomenine: a narrative review.

Transl Cancer Res

September 2023

Department of Gynecology, Jiangxi Cancer Hospital, Nanchang, China.

Background And Objective: Currently, chemotherapy is the main treatment for most tumors. However, drug resistance and many adverse reactions associated with chemotherapy greatly limit its use. Therefore, an increasing number of researchers have shifted the research focus the anti-tumor activity of traditional Chinese medicine.

Objective: To discuss the relationship between time in range (TIR) which is deprived of the FGMS and the risk of diabetic vascular complications and to provide a theoretical foundation for the clinical application of TIR and other FGMS-deprived indexes.

Methods: Patients with T2DM who wore the FGMS sensor continuously were enrolled. Relevant indexes such as TIR, time below range (TBR), time above range (TAR), a standard deviation of blood glucose (SDBG), coefficient of variation of blood glucose (CV), and mean amplitude of glycemic excursion (MAGE) generated by the FGMS were recorded, and the risk of diabetic vascular complications were followed up for one year.

Objective: Our previous studies showed that naringin (Nar) can effectively reverse the cisplatin resistance of ovarian cancer cells. This study aims to explore the potential mechanism by which Nar reverses cisplatin resistance in ovarian cancer.

Methods: The proliferative activity of cells was evaluated using CCK8 and cell clone formation assays.

Background: DNA replication alteration is a hallmark of patients with lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD) and is frequently observed in LUAD progression. Origin recognition complex (ORC) 1, ORC2, ORC3, ORC4, ORC5, and ORC6 form a replication-initiator complex to mediate DNA replication, which plays a key role in carcinogenesis, while their roles in LUAD remain poorly understood.

Methods: The mRNA and protein expression of ORCs was confirmed by the GEPIA, HPA, CPTAC, and TCGA databases.

The clinical efficacy of ear endoscopic intervention in patients with congenital middle ear cholesteatoma (CMEC) is explored, and the relationship between the expression of reactive oxygen species (ROS), phosphorylated protein kinase B (P-Akt), hypoxia-inducible factor-1 (HIF-1) and the degree of bone damage are analyzed. A total of 72 CMEC patients admitted to the otolaryngology department of our hospital from 2019 to January 2021 for surgical treatment are selected. According to the different intervention methods, the microscope group and the otolaryngology intervention group are established, respectively, with 36 patients in each group.

From State Key Laboratory of Ophthalmology, Zhongshan Ophthalmic Center, Sun Yat-sen University, Guangzhou, China (W.C, Y.S, X.G, F.L, F.L, P.W, K.H, W.W, X.Z). Electronic address:

Purpose: To examine the relationship between axial length (AL) and choriocapillaris (CC) flow deficits percentage (FD%) in non-pathological highly myopic eyes.

Design: Prospective cross-sectional study.

Methods: This study included Chinese patients with non-pathological high myopia, which was defined by an AL of > 26 mm and a META-PM classification grade of <2.

A deep-learning system predicts glaucoma incidence and progression using retinal photographs.

J Clin Invest

June 2022

State Key Laboratory of Ophthalmology, Zhongshan Ophthalmic Center, Sun Yat-sen University, Guangdong Provincial Key Laboratory of Ophthalmology and Visual Science, Guangdong Provincial Clinical Research Center for Ocular Diseases, Guangzhou, China.

BackgroundDeep learning has been widely used for glaucoma diagnosis. However, there is no clinically validated algorithm for glaucoma incidence and progression prediction. This study aims to develop a clinically feasible deep-learning system for predicting and stratifying the risk of glaucoma onset and progression based on color fundus photographs (CFPs), with clinical validation of performance in external population cohorts.

Background: Diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL) is the main pathological type of non-Hodgkin lymphoma (NHL). Chromobox (CBX) family proteins are classical components of polycomb group (PcG) complexes in many cancer types, resulting in accelerated carcinogenesis. Nevertheless, the prognostic, functional and expression significance of these CBX family members in DLBCL remain unclear and elusive.

Xeroderma Pigmentosum group D (XPD) gene has been shown to suppress hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) progression, but its mechanism remains not fully understood. ETS-related gene (ERG) is generally known as an oncogenic gene. This study aimed to explore whether XPD regulated HCC cell proliferation, apoptosis and cell cycle by inhibiting ERG expression via the PPARγ pathway.

May 2017

Academy for Advanced Interdisciplinary Studies, Peking University, 100871 Beijing, PR China; College of Engineering, Peking University, 100871 Beijing, PR China.

Objective: In this study, we sought to demonstrate the blood suppression performance, image quality and morphological measurements for compressed sensing (CS) based simultaneous 3D black- and gray-blood imaging sequence (CS-siBLAG) in carotid vessel wall MR imaging.

Materials And Methods: Seven healthy volunteers and five patients were recruited. Healthy subjects underwent five CS-siBLAG scans with 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5-fold accelerations.

Objective: To provide an up-to-date synthesis of available data, and to quantify the effect of highly selective beta-1 blockers on glucose metabolism in patients with essential hypertension and type diabetes mellitus (T2DM) by using pooled analysis techniques.

Methods: Cochrane Library, PubMed, MEDLINE, and EMBASE databases were searched from inception to July 2013 in the Third Affiliated Hospital of Nanchang University, Nanchang, China. We collected randomized controlled trails reporting on the effect of highly selective beta-1 blockers on glucose metabolism in patients with hypertension and type 2 diabetes.
