Long-chain chlorinated paraffins (LCCPs) are industrial raw materials extensively utilized worldwide. Recently, their environmental impact has escalated, exacerbating challenges in animal husbandry and contributing to pollution from the food industry, which poses certain risks to animal growth and development. However, the toxicological effects of LCCPs exposure on poultry remain inadequately understood.

In preclinical studies, GST-HG141, a novel hepatitis B virus (HBV) capsid assembly modulator displayed potent anti-HBV activity in vitro and strong efficacy in HBV animal models. A randomized, double-blind, ascending phase 1b trial assessed the pharmacokinetics, safety, and efficacy of GST-HG141 in chronic hepatitis B (CHB) individuals. Thirty treatment-naïve CHB patients were enrolled in three cohorts (25, 50, and 100 mg twice orally after meals daily) over 28 days, with 10 subjects per cohort (8:2 ratio for GST-HG141 and placebo).

The blood-brain barrier (BBB) is the most central component of the neurovascular unit (NVU) and is crucial for the maintenance of the internal environment of the central nervous system and the regulation of homeostasis. A multitude of neuroprotective agents have been developed to exert neuroprotective effects and improve the prognosis of patients with ischemic stroke. These agents have been designed to maintain integrity and promote BBB repair.

The Knops blood group system is an independent blood group system recognized by International Society of Blood Transfusion (ISBT) in 1992, and latest time consisting of 13 antigens carried on a glycoprotein of 2489 amino acids and called the Complement C3b/C4b Receptor 1 (CR1). Erythrocyte KN antigen was first reported in 1970, and CR1 is a protein coding gene that is a member of the receptors of complement activation (RCA) family and is located in the "cluster RCA" region of chromosome 1. CR1 is an important participant in the erythrocyte immune machinery and plays an major role in inhibiting complement activation, and polymorphisms in its expression have been closely associated with a variety of diseases, including systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), malaria, Plasmodium falciparum malaria, Alzheimer's disease (AD) and leprosy.

Background: Distant metastasis of gastric cancer can seriously affect the treatment strategy of gastric cancer patients, so it is essential to identify patients at high risk of distant metastasis of gastric cancer earlier.
Method: In this study, we retrospectively collected research data from 18,472 gastric cancer patients from the SEER database. We applied six machine learning algorithms to construct a model that can predict distant metastasis of gastric cancer.

Background: Researches comparing laparoscopic liver resection (LLR) with microwave ablation (MWA) for 3-5 cm multifocal hepatocellular carcinoma (MFHCC) are rare.
Materials And Methods: From 2008 to 2019, 666 intrahepatic tumours in 289 patients from 12 tertiary medical centres in China were included in this retrospective study. Propensity score matching (PSM) was performed to balance variables between the two treatment groups over time frames 2008-2019 and 2013-2019 to observe the potential impact of advancements in intervention techniques on overall survival (OS), disease-free progression (DFS) of patients.

Introduction: Chemo-immunotherapy based on inducing tumor immunogenic cell death (ICD)with chemotherapy drugs has filled the gaps between traditional chemotherapy and immunotherapy. It is verified that paclitaxel (PTX) can induce breast tumor ICD. From this basis, a kind of nanoparticle that can efficiently deliver different drug components simultaneously is constructed.

Bacterial infections and antibiotic resistance are global health problems, and current treatments for bacterial infections still rely on the use of antibiotics. Phototherapy based on the use of a photosensitizer has high efficiency, a broad spectrum, strong selectivity, does not easily induce drug resistance, and is expected to become an effective strategy for the treatment of bacterial infections, particularly drug-resistant infections. This article reviews antimicrobial strategies of phototherapy based on photosensitizers, including photodynamic therapy (PDT), photothermal therapy (PTT), and their combination.

To compare the efficacy and safety of gecacitinib (also known as jaktinib) with hydroxyurea (HU) in treating myelofibrosis (MF) patients. In this multicenter, randomized phase 3 trial (ZGJAK016), intermediate- or high-risk primarily JAK inhibitor naïve MF patients were assigned in a 2:1 ratio to receive either gecacitinib (100 mg twice a day, BID) or HU (500 mg BID). The primary endpoint was the proportion of patients with ≥35% reduction in spleen volume (SVR35) from baseline at week 24.

Although traditionally regarded as an impediment, the protein corona can facilitate the advancement of targeted drug delivery systems. This study presents an innovative approach for targeting acute myeloid leukemia (AML) using nanoparticles with agglutinated protein (NAPs). Agglutinated transferrin and C3b in NAPs selectively bind to CD71 and CD11b, receptors that are overexpressed on myeloid leukemic cells compared to nonmalignant cells.

Introduction: Bladder cancer was recognized as one of the most common malignant tumors in the urinary system, and treatment options remained largely limited to conventional surgery, radiotherapy, and chemotherapy, which limited patient benefits.
Methods: Researchers constructed an RNA transcriptome map of bladder cancer by integrating single-cell RNA sequencing and clinical data, identifying potential molecular targets for diagnosis and treatment. We also verified the antitumor activity of the target through in vitro experiment.

Preeclampsia (PE) is a prevalent and multifaceted pregnancy disorder, characterized by high blood pressure, edema, proteinuria, and systemic organ dysfunction. It remains one of the leading causes of pregnancy complications, yet its exact origins and pathophysiological mechanisms are not fully understood. Currently, the only definitive treatment is delivery, often requiring preterm termination of pregnancy, which increases neonatal and maternal morbidity and mortality rates, particularly in severe cases.

Hereditary multiple exostoses (HME) is an autosomal dominant skeletal disorder primarily linked with mutations in Exostosin-1 (EXT1) and Exostosin-2 (EXT2) genes. However, not all HME cases can be explained by these mutations, and its pathogenic mechanisms are not fully understood. Herein, utilizing whole-exome sequencing and genetic screening with a family trio design, we identify two novel rare mutations co-segregating with HME in a Chinese family, including a nonsense mutation (c.

Recent studies underscore the anti-inflammatory role of SIRT1; however, its levels during inflammatory states remain ambiguous. We synthesized relevant studies up to 20 March 2024 to evaluate the relationship between SIRT1 and inflammation, using data from three major databases. Employing a random-effects model, we analyzed both cross-sectional and longitudinal studies, calculating weighted mean differences (WMDs) for pooled effect sizes.
