This study aimed to discuss the pathogenic hereditary factors of children with steroid-resistant nephrotic syndrome (SRNS) in Guangxi, China. We recruited 89 patients with SRNS or infantile NS from five major pediatric nephrology centers in Guangxi, and conducted a retrospective analysis of clinical data. Whole-exome sequencing analysis was also performed on all patients.

Background: This study investigated the factors influencing the prognosis of children with steroid-resistant nephrotic syndrome (SRNS) in patients from the Guangxi region.
Methods: We retrospectively analyzed clinical and pathological data of 279 patients with SRNS from six tertiary hospitals in Guangxi. Clinical data were compared between initial (I-SRNS) and secondary (S-SRNS) steroid resistance subgroups and Cox regression analysis was used to determine risk factors for chronic kidney disease (CKD) and CKD stage 5 (CKD5) in patients with SRNS.

Evidence for the treatment of patients with mild-to-moderate chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) is limited. The efficacy of N-acetylcysteine (an antioxidant and mucolytic agent) for patients with mild-to-moderate COPD is uncertain. In this multicentre, randomised, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial, we randomly assigned 968 patients with mild-to-moderate COPD to treatment with N-acetylcysteine (600 mg, twice daily) or matched placebo for two years.

Ionizing radiation (IR) has been widely used in the diagnosis and treatment of clinical diseases, with radiation therapy (RT) being particularly rapid, but it can induce "bystander effects" that lead to biological responses in non-target cells after their neighboring cells have been irradiated. To help clarify how radiotherapy induces these effects, To help clarify how radiotherapy induces these effects, we analyzed single-cell RNA sequencing data from irradiated intestinal tissues on day 1 (T1 state), day 3 (T3 state), day 7 (T7 state), and day 14 (T14 state) after irradiation, as well as from healthy intestinal tissues (T0 state), to reveal the cellular level, molecular level, and involvement of different time irradiated mouse intestinal tissues in biological signaling pathways. In addition, changes in immune cell subpopulations and myeloid cell subpopulations after different radiation times were further explored, and gene regulatory networks (GRNs) of these cell subpopulations were constructed.

Steroid-resistant nephrotic syndrome (SRNS) is one of the major causes of end-stage kidney disease (ESKD) in children and young adults. For approximately 30% of children with SRNS results from a genetic cause. In this study, genotype-phenotype correlations in a cohort of 283 pediatric patients with SRNS or early-onset NS (nephrotic syndrome presenting within the first year of life) from 23 major pediatric nephrology centers in China were analyzed.

Objective: Review and analyze the characteristics of bone marrow cell morphology in patients with Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) infection, and explore the diagnostic value of bone marrow cell morphology for the early identification of EBV infection.
Methods: A total of 33 patients with EBV-DNA positive detection in the First Affiliated Hospital of Guangxi Medical University from January 2018 to May 2021 were collected as the research objects. Bone marrow cell morphology and peripheral blood cell analysis were performed, and the significance in disease diagnosis was analyzed by statistical methods.

Objective: To evaluate the efficacy of combined epigenetic drugs of decitabine (DAC), valproic acid (VPA) and trichostatin A (TSA) on immunotherapy with a murine model of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC).
Methods: Dendritic cells (DCs) transduced with recombinant lentivirus expressing a cancer-testis antigen, acrosin binding protein (ACRBP), are referred to as DC/ACRBP. CD8 T cells were harvested from spleens of C57BL/6 mice and activated by DC/ACRBP.
